The non-Simon compositions (the staple Dylan (and copy cat) folk songs of the time) were kind of bland and the only ones that stand out are “He Was My Brother” (written by Paul Kane) and “Peggy-O” (Traditional arr by. Paul Simon). The Simon songs on the other hand, while too few, are amazing. The simple tunes “Little Sparrow” and “Bleaker Street” are two of my favorite songs from the entire Paul Simon catalog. While “Sounds of Silence” is an amazing song as well, I tend to prefer the overdubbed Tom Wilson produced version made with The Wrecking Crew a year later in 1965.
