I have the German VHS of the longer version of ST:TMP. I originally bought it in the hopes that one day I’d be able to synch its audio track with FanFiltration’s reconstruction.

It doesn’t. Many Germans prefer their movies dubbed instead of subtitled.
So my VHS may only be interesting for the audio track.Having a nice cap of the whole thing would probably be good. This way an NTSC version could be made and maybe used to average one nice looking VHS version all the way around.

I just realised that you were probably talking about burnt-in subtitles during the Klingon and Vulcan dialogs. I’m pretty sure that these have burnt-in subtitles.
It may take some time, but once I get around to it, I’ll see if I can digitize it for you. 😃
