Back on topic, I’d love a band of brothers style 10 part series post ROTJ following the adventures of a middle aged Luke training new jedi, staring Mark Hamill would be nice, but I doubt we'll get that, and I don’t think Harrison Ford would be interested, so my second choice would be a series called "Star wars tales" with guest directors who've wanted to do something in the universe. Every episode is something new, a self contained story set between Episode 3 and 4, and featuring new characters. For example:

1. A story about a smuggler from corellia
2. A story about a jedi that is in hiding post ep 3
3. A story about a young man who is forcefully conscripted into the imperial military

etc, etc.

Charcters like Han Solo might be mentioned in passing, like if the smuggler was talking about a hot new smuggler on the scene or something, and Vader could appear because you could just stick any tall dude in the suit, but he would be a minor character, with only very brief appearences.

Any more ideas?

Unrelated, separated episodes about characters living in the Star Wars universe could work, but I doubt GL would want that.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. He'd tie everthing into the films by having C-3PO sent back in time along with R2.

In Sci-Fi scientific theory, if you were to hurl C-3PO around a sun at the correct speed and trajectory he would able to travel backwrads and forwards in time... that is, if he didn't melt. "Oh my, R2... is it hot out here or is it just me?"

Perhaps R2 could use his jets and fly them both....

Or maybe the droids get into a black hole and come to Earth, at 18th century France! C3PO would wear one of those white wigs...

Or maybe the teenage years of Ackbar on Mon Calamari Highschool.

And all the problems he has with the evil Bothan bully Borsk Feilya.

Either way...

On second thought, that could cause some really terrible puns.

Principal: Now Borsk Fey'lya. If you don't straiten up your teachers are gonna Fail ya! You Slacker. Just like you're old man. No Fey'lya has ever amounted to anything in the history of the GFFA!

or... or... or...

How about Star Wars universe commercials to go along with the show? Like a mother and daughter Mon Calamari walking along a beach in the summer and the daughter says "Mom- did you ever have one of those days when you just don't feel...well... fresh?"

I think what we'd all love to see is a series about Anakin's youth in the years following the Phantom Menace, starring Jake Lloyd, and the more yippees and Jar Jar appearances the better.

*cough*

LOL At first I thought you were serious until the line about Jar Jar.

ACKBAR: Please, Fey'lya, don't hit me! I'll give you my lunch money! I can't take punches of that magnitude!
BORSK: OK, shrimp. If you give me your money, I won't hit you.
ACKBAR: Here, take it...
BORSK: What a moron! I'll kick your ass after class!
ACKABAR: Oh no! It's a trap!

More Info On The Star Wars TV Series

I know that there’s been word on this whole Star Wars TV Series and that George Lucas went as far as confirming it, saying that one way or another Star Wars will continue. Plus, Lucasfilm's Jim Ward confirmed that a "Star Wars" TV series is on the way in the near future but didn't say when it would be a go. We’ve been provided with a little bit more information on the TV Series. Below is what our “Anonymous” source tells us.

First, I work for Hasbro. If you're not familiar with us - we do the Star Wars toys.

Without getting anyone's butt in trouble, especially my own, I wanted to let you know that there's a "Star Wars" TV series in the works - because we've just got the contract for the new line. Barrage of new characters in the show that I've never heard of (sans a couple), but someone said it's along the lines of 'Young Indiana Jones' and it could have Mark Hamill reprising his role as Luke Skywalker for several episodes. George Lucas is involved, but only in the creative sense. A Lucas Film rep told another of the guys here that they're going to be testing a mass of young actors for the roles. I'm keen myself to find out who's playing [hint] 'the original owner of the Falcon'".

We will keep you posted!

Thoughts? Lando? When the heck is this supposed to take place?

I'm putting my money on 'Big' Will Smith. And he can do a rap for the intro music, it'll be great.
Incidentally, does anyone have a hi-res image of the Lucas Portrait used in that article??

Hi YodaIYF! I read you were looking for a copy of that image. If no one gets you one by tonight (USA eastern time) I'b be happy to scan the cover from my book if that's ok- or are you only looking for a 'clean' textless copy?

Hi Greencapt, Thanks for the PM but for some reason my PM doesn't work properly so I can't reply. I think a hi-res scan is the best I'm gonna get for now so I would greatly appreciate that, thanks.

I scanned it at 300 dpi and saved as a .PNG which came out to about 25 mgs, give or take. Is that about what you were looking for? Email me at : greencapt-at-yahoo.com and tell me where I can get it to you!
