If it was an error on Google’s end, that still doesn’t entitle you to download an illegal copy. You need to fight that battle with Google, not the studio.
I take this very seriously because I believe it threatens the existence of multiple sites I love, including this one.
Not being careful with unfounded accusations can also be harmful to people’s everyday life when not handled more carefully by those making the open accusations. I’m sure they will get it sorted but my credit card was already tapped for the amount I owed them. I have no issue at least discussing what happened and the possibility that I may need to look elsewhere. If I DO have to look elsewhere I will post NO conformation whatsoever here because it wouldn’t be fair to the site.
Please do not accuse me of being or infer that I am a pirate. Unless Jay has authorized and paid for you to speak for him legally, you could cause more harm than you intend … and I cannot see anything positive coming from that.
You’re clearly missing the point, but Wook’s last post enforces what I’m saying, which is that it’s potentially bigger than any one of us and we all need to be much more careful about what we say publicly. I’ll now drop it until Jay states the official position of the site.
I am as passionate as you are about the site and the issues. It is exactly why I said you should take care with what you say publicly as well so I did not miss the point. You directing comments at one person specifically was unnecessary and not in line with your “concern for the community”, otherwise your comment would have been more of a blanket statement. Wook’s comment reinforced his position, not yours, and I heard him when he first said it. I understood it as well.
In any case, I received a response to my query, and the issue was fixed promptly. I paid in full for what I ordered and I now have everything that I ordered. Me and the Mouse are square and I’m good. This will be my last post in this thread.
I do suggest to others posting in the thread to limit it to discussion of the content itself. Any other discussion regarding this situation should be done privately until Jay has a chance to decide how he wants to handle it.
