Thanks for the hard work and effort. I enjoyed “Pulp Empire” immensely.

Thanks again for your efforts. I’d been holding off on grabbing the ESB movie disc since I’ll one day want to replace it with 2.5. But now I think I’ll grab it so that I can try swapping the files with multiavchd someday in the future!

Discs.

Just a heads up that I will be removing the edits from MEGA in the coming days. If you are yet to download the set and would like to do so, feel free to PM me (asap), otherwise they will still be available via myspleen.

Thanks to everyone here who chipped in on these forums for your encouragement and assistance in getting these blurays finished. It was a pleasure working on them and sharing them with you all. Hopefully those that downloaded them have enjoyed what they’ve seen.

I’ve decided to retire from fan-editing to work on other things, so if anyone would like to adapt these blurays for future releases of the Despecialized editions, please feel free to do so with my blessing. But the simplest method would be to swap out the new video (when Harmy releases it) with the outdated version using multiAVCHD.

Thanks again, and best wishes,

njvc

Good luck with everything! Though, when Harmy’s ESB v2.5 does come out, it would be wonderful if you could pop in to make sure we’re not having unforeseen issues integrating it. With SW v2.7, ESB v2.5, and ROTJ v2.5 all in this format, we will finally have everything to a stable point which we can confidently archive to expensive media (v3 will be a very different and sufficiently distinct milestone from this and whatever the new collaboration comes up with will be quite different and distinct, as well. All a good ways away from a stable rallying point, at that).

Tried playing the 50gb on my WDTV Live box. The movie plays fine, but I can’t access the menus. Since I can access the menus with no problem on my ripped from retail DVD’s/BD’s, I’m assuming it has something to to with the authoring software. Pity. Guess I’ll stick with the mkv.

Well, really this is more for archival and/or viewing directly from a disc in a hardware player. That said, the menus do mostly work on a PC with Kodi, though with some extreme lag (like 30 seconds) between when you click on an option and the current menu stops / the next menu comes up fully or the selected video starts. Not that it helps you any with your network media player of choice.

Man, that’s a shame. I haven’t had the chance to download the set yet, due to limited bandwidth, so I’ll have to track it down through this thread later this year or next year. I have just finished my cover and disc art for the set, though, and I’ll be uploading that most likely at the weekend.

So on a Sony blu Ray player there should be no lag, correct?

Probably. I don’t think he would have bothered releasing this set at all if it didn’t work acceptably on decent hardware players.

Good evening everyone. Box set materials are finally here and assembled. I had so much extra content, thanks to njvc for compiling everything into one neat package, so I did a Despecialized Box set and a Bonus Materials box set. The film set is housed in a Hobbit Extended Blu-ray box set and comprised of 3 discs per film, in Criterion cases from Casetopia–feature, docs and special features and a printed insert. I used some of ronlim’s box set extras, including mini posters, lobby cards (and sleeves). In addition to ronlim’s posters, I included Propaganda posters by Cat Skaggs and 3 posters by Andy Fairhurst. I also used some of Ralph McQuarrie’s art to create a collection of larger posters based upon his concepts. For the Bonus Materials set, I used an empty box from the Lord of the Rings extended set and the Blu-ray cases, which are expandable for future releases, however I have yet to print of any inserts or extras for that set. I want to thank everyone who had a hand in creating these films and the art that I used to go with them: njvc, ronlim, Frankt, Video Collector, bigjinks and Phildesfr. If I forgot anyone, please forgive me. Also, please forgive the poor picture quality.

Right, well, I think I’ll just be crawling into my hole now and thinking about my life choices. That’s a magnificent set.

I’ll be posting my covers soon, just been having trouble with exporting from Affinity. For some reason it doesn’t handle rendering starfields reliably.

WOW, what an incredible box set. Truly impressive. I myself constructed one based on ronlim’s set, just without some of the printouts.

I’m wanting to make a set for a friend, but instead of ronlim’s set, which uses three separate Criterion cases, I’d like to house it in a single blue triple case like this one: http://www.casetopia.com/Vortex_3_Disc_Blu_ray_Case_14mm_p/br3-vortex.htm

Has anyone created box art that would house these, with details that match the BD25 versions of the films (with no extras discs)? Really, any art that doesn’t mention special features beyond audio tracks would work, but I’m having trouble finding any. I might give it a go myself, if no one has made such a work.

Thanks for any help.

And here’s the Dropbox link to the rest of my covers. click here

Included are 6- and 10-disc versions (ie. 50GB and 25GB, respectively), as well as 9- and 13-disc versions including Adywan’s Revisited editions for when they come out. The individual covers are for Criterion-size cases, but I’ve also included standard-size versions of the complete set, because I’m one of the poor sods who can’t get Criterion cases (at least not without paying ten times their cost in shipping to Australia).

I’ve also included a 12-page booklet with the comprehensive details of the contents of the set; I’ve made a draft 16-page version for the complete set including Revisited, but, obviously, that won’t be able to be finalised until the Revisited versions are released, and who knows how many years away ROTJ:R is, so I haven’t included it in the upload.

Any comments, suggestions, or requests are more than welcome.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. But without the generosity of the community, I wouldn’t have a set, so thanks again. And RoccondilRinon, if I may, I’d like to check out some of your art and include it in the set if possible. cheers…

The art isn’t mine, I just put the thing together. The most I did was tweaking the lightsaber posters for the collector’s set and some very minor colour grading. But everything I made is in the zip linked above.

That’s some seriously fantastic stuff, one69chev! What did you print the posters and leaflets on?

Nothing too exotic, HP Glossy presentation paper, 180gm. It has been pretty tough finding materials here in Poland, so I have been doing a lot of trial and error, Amazon and Ebay, and found that this particular paper worked pretty well and didn’t smudge on a the “best” setting.

I plan on up-loading the stuff that I used (posters and such) which isn’t readily available from the O.T. community either today or tomorrow. For me, the toughest thing was deciding on which covers to use, because there are so many awesome ones to choose from. I did use the Manga insides you provided, so thank you for those.
