I found this on spleen, but I want to make sure it’s this with NO quality loss. Can you give me the size of the file, please? Thanks!

if you found it there, it should be pretty clear if it is the official release or not.

Ahh… the warmth and love from this forum… /sigh

ANSWER: Size: 20.81 GB (22,343,340,317 bytes)

sure, but if you found the torrent, i fail to understand how you wouldn’t know what it was. a hash check is better than comparing file sizes. sorry to be so blunt in my first response, reading it now i see the harshness.

Seems like a reasonable enough question. People upload re-encodes and things like that from time to time. Other people delete their uploads, sometimes for silly reasons. And it’s not uploaded by “towne32” there.

I have 2.5 mkv and I’m on a Mac. Any pointers on converting these for BR?

Well, considering the thread you’re on, I’d start by saying get v2.7… And then, if you’re still starting from the MKV (more on another option in a second), the generally recommended action has been to convert the MKV to a Blu-ray ISO by simply running it through tsmuxerGUI (obviously don’t expect menus or anything fancy with this route), and burning the result with a good disc burning program.

If you want to make it even easier on yourself (since you should download the upgraded version anyway), you may want to consider looking for whatever suits your needs from this project http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Star-Wars-Despecialized-Editions-Custom-Bluray-Set/id/49995

Anyone have a recommendation for a good Mac disc burning program?

You guys think this is the best version of the film? Trying to decide between this and the TeamNegative1 transfer.

Depends on your taste. This one has overall better quality, looks like a Blu Ray but is in many places only a recreation of the original version. TN1 has less detail, looks more like film projection than Blu Ray and is 100 % original Star Wars 1977.

I honestly can’t tell the difference between the 100% original and the recreations so I go with 2.7 for better colors and better quality. If I want a filmic experience then I’m going with the Grindhouse versions.

For the time being I’m sticking to the scans. I know that they’re fully theatrical and the overall quality is much more consistent.

Makes sense for SW. The others are still to rough to be ‘go to versions’ for me. ESB due to the color and red light flashing/bleed through. Jedi looks gorgeous but the print damage is just a bit too much for me to sit down and enjoy the movie.

I can stomach it. They’re really just stepping stones until Team Blu gets their stuff out, anyway.

For me this is a bit more religious. It doesn’t matter if I can see that it’s only a recreation, but I know it.

It’s also on tehparadox site, in case you didn’t get the invite or Myspleen doesn’t work ATM.

Sadly tehparadox is blocked on my ISP. Get some message about a UK court order, so not sure if it’s my provider or widespread in Britain. Not fair!!

Hoping Myspleen is free from this sort of skull duggery.

Has anyone tried the [AUDIO FILE] Star Wars (1977): SE ’97 mix for TN1’s SSE v1.6 and Harmy’s DE 2.7 off the spleen. Just trying to decide if it’s worth getting/what opinions are on it.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

I just muxed it into DeEd 2.7. It sounds nice but I’m not very well versed on the differences between this audio mix and the others. Is there a list somewhere?
