Is the third spinoff decided yet?

I know after Ep VIII Is gonna be a han solo movie. Then after that Ep IX. But what comes after that? Has that been decided yet? I don’t think I read anywhere that they decided what comes last. After that how long do they wait to make the next Star Wars movies then? Far as I’m concerned they could keep making Star Wars movies as long as they wanted. Marvel has managed to keep making movies in the same universe for a long time and fatigue hasn’t set in yet. So it could work for Star Wars too.

Didn’t they say awhile ago they were gonna do a Boba Fett movie or something like that?

I believe it was Rogue One, Han Solo, and tentatively Boba Fett, yeah.

I guess a Boba Fett movie will be servicable. I hope it’s a prequel to 6 tho. Don’t have him survive Sarlac again like he did in the EU. That just wasn’t believable. It’s like Darth Maul surviving being sliced in half. When they do that you wonder if Obi Wan really had to die in 4.

Rogue One looks great. I’m ambivalent towards the idea of a Han Solo spinoff, but they’ve got good people behind it, so I’m somewhat interested. If the third spinoff is indeed Boba Fett, I’ll most likely skip it, or at the very least I’ll skip opening weekend. I’m just not at all interested in seeing more of that character.

I actually think a Boba Fett movie set after Jedi would be good. Since it’s canon that both he and now Mace Windu survived their apparent deaths in the movies, I think it would be fitting for him to hunt down a reclusive Samuel L. Jackson in a Tarantino-style revenge movie. That’s the only way this could be all that interesting to me.

According to this Boba Fett is only considered alive cause GL said he survived Sarlacc, but how is that canon if it ain’t portrayed in any media anywhere. Thats the canon that really matters. GL changes his mind all the time so until it’s in media it shouldn’t be considered canon.

I’m glad I know better than to care about canon.

If they make Boba Fett film, I would prefer it to be set post-ROTJ. There is much more potential for a good story in time when empire is collapsing. I have never had problems with him surviving.

All I have to say is “Aftermath”

Anyone else digging the idea of an obi wan standalone. Definite tumors have circulated about it. And boba fett was originally planned for Josh Trank but after Fantastic 4, he was dropped. the idea of a boba fett movie has lost hope and the rumors/optimism for a Obi Wan film set between episodes 3 and 4 has arisen. I’d love it to be called “Ben Kenobi”. And in all honesty, I’d much rather prefer a obi wan spinoff rather than one about boba fett.

I don’t particularly want a Boba Fett film despite him being my favorite character, I just think that it’s incredibly likely given his marketability.

Personally, I don’t really want spinoffs centered around established characters. Rogue One has a mostly new group of characters (AFAIK there’s only one guy from a Clone Wars episode or something, and Vader will probably be just a cameo), and I wish all the spinoffs would be the same way.

Sadly I have to hope that we’ll never see the character again because if we do, one way or another his voice is going to be awful.

Yep, that’s why I don’t want to see the movie. The character has been ruined and they won’t salvage it, so it’s best to just let him die.

Unfortunately, he’s insanely marketable, so that’ll never happen.

Yeah, I’m not interested in a Boba Fett movie. First of all, the guy was supposed to be this silent hunter type, if they make a movie about him it would not be the OT Boba Fett, it would be the fan service Boba Fett. A bounty hunter movie would be fun to see though but not with anyone we already know. I’d like to see some Nar Shaddaa type underground world with sleazy streets etc.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Provided they return to a Jason Wingreen-esque voice, I’d watch a Boba Fett movie. If it’s just more mini-Jango crap, then forget it.

The retcon will hold forever, which is why the character is ruined.

Wow, that brings up a good point, with GL no longer in charge. That means if they make a Boba Fett movie that they might use the voice of whoever portrays him rather than hire back the guy from the prequels. That’s what a normal studio would do anyway. So how would that be? Boba Fett with yet another voice?

Also, are you guys hoping it’ll be like Dredd? Where he never takes his helmut off?

I think that you shouldn’t use established characters if they don’t serve the story. But if they logically fit into the story your telling then it only makes sense. A Han Solo Movie IMO doesn’t follow this. It’s an entire movie on one of the most loved characters of Star Wars. Whereas with Rogue One, it’s an exciting prequel to episode 4 that helps bridge the gap between 3 and 4. But the thing is, Lucasfilm has already said Vader isn’t just a cameo but he’ll have a prominent role. Is this forced like the Han Solo Movie? Not at all. Vader logically would be a huge part of the story they’re trying to tell. And if they give me more James Earl Jones with good diagloue and kicking ass then I’m fine because he fits in the story and it doesn’t shrink the universe. But a Han Solo cameo would shrink the universe because he has no place being there and it would be simply for fan service.

Same reason that Bail Organa will play a small role in this…cause he fits into the story. Being one of the creators of the alliance means that before his death he would be heavily involved in the Rebellion.

I would be down for a movie about the criminal underworld / bounty hunting (Black Sun etc). But once again… with totally new characters but certain cameos would be awesome, of course. Different crime syndicates fighting over territories and power, bounty hunters getting thrown in the mix, people backstabbing each other to climb to the top of the food chain. In short: Godfather in a galaxy far, far away…

I like Boba Fett the way he is right now. The silent, mysterious type. I don’t really NEED to see his origins with a 15-minute montage of blaster mastery and jetpack training. Watching the OT after a Boba Fett movie would be like “Wow, he really used to talk more…”

The less ‘Star Wars’-y the spinoffs feel, the less the general public will be interested in them. Honestly, it seems the spinoffs only exist because Disney wants to reuse characters from the OT/PT that no longer exist in the new trilogy.

I personally am interested in an Obi Wan Kenobi spinoff, depending on how they could work it without the Hutts ratting him out to Vader nor Vader sensing him being out off of Tattoine.

I’d also be interested in a Vader standalone set during the time between ANH and ESB based off the Vader comics by Marvel. Vader trying to regain his position in the Empire, using Boba Fett to track down information on the Rebel that blew up the Death Star, having him plot to overthrow the Emperor, and wipe out an entire squadron of Rebels on his own after the set a trap for him. It’d be interesting to have an entire Star Wars movie focused on the villian, with the good guys only dropping in from time to time as opposed to the other way around.

The Jedi are all but extinct.......
