I kind of looked at the product placement in the same way Chaltab did... more like a comparison of what existed then and what will exist later. Not so much companies trying to get their products in a movie. Although I'm sure that's what it was.

What I hated was just how cartoony the film was. The hoverboard chase in the town square took what was a great scene in the original movie and dragged its memory through the mud ruining it entirely. Biff became a sad joke whereas he was a viable bully in the original film. Now, you look at him and his offspring and wonder how you could possibly be afraid of him/them. Even Doc Brown became annoying after a while.
