People should learn to write and learn to write well. Pen and paper are a lost art because of filthy Millennials thinking they’re not necessary because they can just text their friends messages that the government can see.
I do think that Twitter and texting are making people functionally illiterate. If you ever doubt that a significant portion of our population are absolute fools, then take a look at social media. The average message looks something like this:
“U r got to be jk wit me. pics or it didn hapen. Btw, were U at, gurl?”
It gets the point across, which is all that matters.
You’re only making fun of it because you weren’t brought up with it and people are inherently suspicious of the youth. Also, how you write today would be described the same way to people from 200 years ago.
Yes, but misspelling every other word and writing as though you are functionally illiterate looks like shit and makes you look like you have severe mental problems. I make fun of it because it is idiotic.
No, it’s not. I feel that it’s just change. Severe mental problems is a severe overstatement.
EDIT: Also, it rarely gets the point across because it is often incomprehensible.
I often don’t find it incomprehensible, and most people seem to understand it.
