That's what I meant. I just don't believe Disney can do it alone.

Chaltab - don't be scared. Ask her to the prom. What';s the worst that can happen? If she says no, in a few years you won't even care, but if you never ask...

Anyway, the end of cel animation? I sure hope not.

War does not make one great.

In theatres at lest. Obviously the medium is still going strong on TV.

They are making a Shrek 3 and 4.
Don't forget: with Lacuna, you can forget.

I don't have anything against CGI, and I greatly enjoyed the first two Shreks, but I just don't like the looming threat that CG features will replace cel-shaded ones.

Because can anyone really imagine the Spongebob Movie in CGI? Or what about something serious like Grave of the Fireflies?

i couldnt actually imagine the spongebob movie being made in the first place

but i do get your point, though im wonder how much of a concern it really is. cgi needs time to settle in, right now it may be over used but eventually directors and animators will learn when to use it and when not to use it...at least i hope this will be the case.

I can understand why CGI would be preferable, though. Obvioulsy the big block busters like Shrek and Incredibles, but also because with CGI you build the character model and then animated it, rather than people having to draw out every frame of animation. Much easier on the wrists.

Oh, did you see it?

No, but can you imagine it in anything but uber-realistic Final Fantasy Spirits-style CGI? That defeats the purpose all together, though, since if you're going to do it that way you might as well make it live action.

I agree.

Shrek has become an excuse to print money. Sure, I enjoyed both of the current Shrek movies... but the more time you swing the better chance there is of missing...

True.

If Shrek 3 bombs, what are they going to do with the 4th one? Straight to video?

Maybe, and I'm not sure that would be such a bad thing....

But even if Shrek 3 sucks, I doubt it will bomb. It will probably make enough in it's first week to buy every DeLorean ever made.

By the way, John DeLorean just died. RIP.

Yeah I saw that. I didn't even know there was a John DeLorean.

I didn't even know he was still alive...I figured he would have been older than 80, too.

Yahoo said that only 9000 DeLoreans were ever made...oh, how I wish I could get one...before the Shrek 3 people buy them all, that is.

Yeah, 9000. I heard 8900, same difference. Anyway.

Sequel that should never be: Back to the Future 4...

I'd love to see a new, good series, but I'm afraid that a film would ruin the legacy.

Am I missing something here?

I just made a comment earlier that Shrek 3 will make enough money it's first week to buy all the Deloreans ever made, and Galahad picked up on it.

I guess I should've clarified that.

I agree, though...Back to the Future 4 should never be made, and I'm glad there's been no talk about it...those movies defined my childhood, and as much as I would love to see Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox and the DeLorean again, the story is over, and I'm glad Zemeckis seems to know that. Besides, even though I enjoyed it at seven years old, the cartoon show was horrible, proving that any attempts to go beyond the trilogy just won't set well with me.

Now, what I would LOVE to see, is a theatrical re-relase of the BTTF trilogy. But no changes please! BTW, my favorite is part 2.

I don't remember a whole lot about it, but I do remember that Jules and Verne figured heavily in it, and that it didn't have the Back to the Future feel to it, having a Saturday morning feeling to it (which was probably the point...).
