Oh. I see, you downloaded a re-encode someone did to GOUT sync it, meaning synced with other audio files like those from Despecialized. From the sound of it they botched it. You need to search the Spleen for the first, official TN1 Blu-ray ISO. It should only have ONE audio track, but it will be in sync.

Thanks, Ill give it a look see. I did manage to correct the sync issue. I had to slide the audio by 2 frames to get it in sync. Id rather have the ISO though. Why is it that everyone talks about GOUT symcing? Is it just the best audio track thats available of the original? I dont think its available on mySpleen anymore. Hows it listed?

IIRC, the GOUT is the available version of the film with every known frame from it. So, by syncing every release to this, we create a standard of sorts, so that any audio tracks created (namely, all of the incredible tracks offered in Despecialized) can be used with any and all new versions of the films.

As far as the audio, it looks to be about a half frame off. I wonder if I can import it into Premeire and move the audio track a hair to correct it. Any other ideas on why its off? The file plays off as well as the BD I burned.

The source of the file was from a theatrical print of the film that had some missing frames, mostly in the head end and tail end of each of the 6 reels.

Because…

….the person who attempted to sync the GOUT’s audio to the file didn’t consider the fact that the theatrical print had missing frames, so, that is why the audio and picture are not in-sync. By the time in the film that the Luke/Vader lightsaber duel at the carbon freeze chamber is finished, the audio and picture would be off by approximately 3 and a quarter seconds.

When you get to the spleen, find a torrent containing a group of GOUT audio files that have been trimmed to play in sync with the ISO file (after it has been extracted). For details, read here.

Thanks dude. Now I get it. Didnt even think about that. I did notice some missing frames as I was watching different clips. Just assumed the audio followed suit.
Ive asked this before, but for clarification sakes, which audio track best represents how an average theatre in 1980-1981 wouldve shown Empire?

That would be the optical soundtrack from the print, or optical track, containing the Dolby Stereo 2-track mix. The audio has some subtle background pops and scratches but it doesn’t overpower the sound mix. These anomalies are what audiences in the theatre watching the film would have heard at the time of the showings. The optical track audio would be in sync with the video because it came from the print. That audio track should have came with ISO file. On the spleen, that audio is the only audio on the ISO file.

There is also a listing on the spleen for audio tracks taken from the Despecialized v2.0 MKV that include the 1980 Stereo mix reconstruction. In my opinion, that’s the best way to watch these without having a high quality capture of the original mix. The optical track is decent enough, but it’s also untouched.

Ok, Thanks. I actually found another version and tried it just to see if it was in sync. It too was about 3 frames off, but after adjusting it, All was well. Kind of odd that it stayed true throughout. I wouldve thought with the later missing clips it would jumped off sync a bit as the movie ran, but it didnt. It was a 2 ch only version. I found the GOUT versions on spleen and will give them a try as well.

I really couldnt find a thread to ask this, so Ill ask here. Theres not many projects that require a BD50 disc for burning, so I dont need 25 or 50 packs od them. Can someone suggest a good source for a 5 pack of BD50 printable discs?

Has anyone else had trouble merging the 00003 & 00004.m2ts files into an MKV? When playing the exported video, there is either some freezing or a very broken transition at the point of merging. The issue seems to arise from the 00003.m2ts file itself, as playing it results in it ending with a brief freeze for me. This is the only file I’ve had and consistently had a problem with.

I’ve used both MKVToolnix and Avidemux with the same result.

Is this still available? I can’t find it.

You may need to use the beta key as I have to make it work(to use go to help>register in the client’s toolbar):

The dev says the key expires November 2016 so we’d all better make the most of it.

Every time they update it, the expiration is pushed back. Don’t worry about having to pay for it.

I am interested in checking this one out, but after having the pain in my spleen checked out and then quizzically thinking over various paradoxes, I can’t seem to find Ep V; found plenty of Ep IV, but I have that one already. Any assistance or clues would be exceedingly helpful.

thanks…
