What would you like to see in a scifi/fantasy web site? The time has come for a change... — Page 4

Glad to hear it.

I've been very busy with a new business and haven't had much time to work on the site (or even visit the forums really). I hate to push the release date off, but I'd say end of March at this point.

Jay-

I, too, would love to be a part of this new website! I have a quirky sense of humor, a good writing style and the all-important addiction to the world wide web.

The forums have been filling a void I've been suffering from in recent years- that of not having like-minded souls to communicate with. There are some great people here and I truly enjoy being among them.

Anyhow, if I can help in any way, please let me know.

Is Jay still viewing here?

I could support the site with my science fiction stories, and I am planning a fantasy in Graphic Novel format....

I'm still here.

Finding the time to work on the site has been difficult. I can't even estimate a timeframe for its completion.

I'd like to get a final roll call from those who plan to contribute. My greatest fear at this point is the attention span of volunteers. If I break my back rebuilding this site from the ground up and all my writers get bored in six months and take off, I'll be pretty pissed.

I need an accurate, honest appraisal of:

1) What you WILL contribute (not what you PLAN to contribute)
2) How often you WILL contribute (not how often you'd LIKE TO contribute)

Not to talk down to you guys or assume the worst. I just don't have a lot of free time these days. If I build the site and the content disappears a few months down the line, I'll have to pull the plug. And that will be it.

Jay, as much as I want to do the toy review section of the site, I think I'm going to have to bow out of it. Financial and time considerations make it a bit difficult for me to be able to do something like that. I wouldn't mind still being a part-time contributor of movie/music/book reviews, but I cannot provide you with a committment in terms of how often that would happen.

I'm sorry, man. But, like you said, best to know now.

Jay you don't need to rush things up, take your time. I know sometimes it's hard to find time to do what we wish to do, so don't worry.

I've sent you an e-mail some time ago, when you created this thread and notified us about the changes you wished to make, back then I didn't know exactly in which way I would be able to contribute, but now I've decided: I can talk about anime. I'll try not to focus on too well known, popular anime, I'll try to talk about some old anime (70s and 80s), recent anime (released this year), anime unknown, classic anime (Tezuka comes to mind), and stuff like that. I'm very familiar with the subject so it's relatively easy for me to write about it. I'm not sure how often I can contribute, if I'm not terribly busy, twice a month, otherwise once a month... Maybe I could even take turns with anyone else who wishes to write about the same subject, I don't know...

I CAN DO MY INSIDER REPORTS COLUMN AND A DVD REVIEW/UPCOMING DVD RELEASE COLUMN. I CAN DO BOTH OF THEM WEEKLY. AND YES, I'LL USE BOTH UPPER AND lower CASE LETTERS.

I'M HERE FOR THE LONG HAUL. I EVEN HAVE A REALLY GOOD MOTTO FOR THE SITE, BUT I DON'T WANT TO POST IT HERE AS I'M WORRIED THAT SOMEONE MIGHT STEAL IT. I'LL SEND IT TO YOU IN A PM.

he has always used caps. I don't know how, when, or why. But since I've been here he has always used caps. Unless he is types the name of someone he doesn't like, he always uses caps.

Jay, I'm still up for letting you run my comic if you still want it. The hope is that over the summer we're going to move to a weekly release schedule. Anyway, you're more than welcome to carry it if you want, just let me know. www.non-stop-pop.com

Definitely interested in carrying it. The latest comic is awesome.

Haven't forgot about you other volunteers either.

I'm going to hit the books hardcore this weekend and hopefully have a beta version of the forum software and content management system complete.
