I just recently picked up a box set of the original 6 films on VHS, all practically brand new, and presented in widescreen. I’d die if I could decently rip the Special Longer Version tape…shame my only VCR is a piece of crap. Need to invest in a decent S-VHS player…

Anyone ever thought of taking the 2009 theatrical Blu-ray and splicing in the deleted scenes? Like, something simple as downscaling it to 720p, then cleaning up the cut scenes, upscale to 720p, and edit them back in?

It’s still a far-cry from the Director’s Cut, but the SLV is much better than the theatrical cut.
