Nostalgia of things that came out before I was born? I don’t think so.
Its all superior mastering and care. I’m not saying vinyl is a superior format. I’m saying most vinyls that come out are superior to their CD counterparts.
It’s all just nostalgia and placebos.

Yes. Sounds like it’s your father’s audiopheelie fetishism rubbing off on you, so nostalgia-by-proxy.
I’m saying most vinyls that come out are superior to their CD counterparts.
You are obviously saying that. And you are wrong, objectively and quantifiably. Because your subjective impressions are colored by the placebo effect and expectation-confirmation bias.
These are terrible random thoughts.
Well this the only appropriate thread.

Correct. Most audiophile stuff is absolute BS—newsflash, most people can’t tell the difference between a 128kbps MP3 and a 320 kbps file—check out this test for the evidence.

This is why ABX tests are important—you can unpurposefully affect one’s opinion by saying what something is.

You’re just jealous of my shocking new bromance with whyx.

Incorrect.

Roll in and make a ruckus, fellow debunketeer!

I can’t think of a single reason to be jealous of that.
Does anyone remember when the term “pron” was a thing? Even back in 6th grade I hated it.
EDIT:
Does anyone remember when the term “pron” was a thing?
its not anymore?

When is the last time you’ve seen someone use that term? Other than me obviously.

Is that an intentional typo porn accounts on social media put in their names to not get deleted? Because if not, I haven’t the slightest idea what you’re talking about.
Also, how long ago was 6th grade for you?
.
The last third of EVERY side of EVERY record suffers from audible Inner Groove Distortion. It is a fundamental, inescapable limitation of the vinyl medium. As a partial ameliorative measure, the cutting engineers painstakingly REMOVE higher frequencies from the waveform gradually as they move into the center of the disc. This is a measurable, audible, undebatable LOSS of information and fidelity. And it HAS to be done on EVERY record.
And it sounds, frankly, like goddamn shit.
Truth. My copy of Aja by Steely Dan suffers from this for sure, and it’s a damn shame because the songs on the outer grooves are perfect.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em

I remember seeing “pron” videos on youtube so that’s not it.

Actually my dad prefers CD’s. Otherwise he wouldn’t have them as he obviously bought the records first.
And like I’ve said, (what 5 times now?) it’s not that I think vinyl is itself a superior format. It’s the fact that everything made for vinyl is mastered in a superior fashion. If CD’s were mastered better then this would be an entirely different discussion. But I don’t like my music brick-walled.
I searched ‘pron’ on Google Images and got porn.

Weird, I listened to Aja just a bit ago.
