Here’s some issues:

Dominic, is there a surefire way to make the audio channels be at the same level like you said?

Well I assumed the easy way would be to match the opening blast of the main title but for some edits this may not work. Basically, the easy way is just to take two of the same scene from each edit and check the levels. Then adjust the gain of one to match the other (if dialogue is at -18 in one and -20 in the other, boost the second by 2 db). This one simple adjustment should make the levels match throughout.

Also, when I import Hal’s 720p m4v it is like 6 or 7 mono channels instead of one 5.1 channel. Know how to fix?

Yeah Hal is right it’s supposed to be 6 distinct channels. You just have to make sure they are in the right place. I mean, they should be already but there’s probably a way to check the file’s properties to find out (Google if necessary). More likely than not the audio is already ready to go.

There’s some good stuff whether you use a Mac or not in the Mac Guides section of the FanEdit forums. I started a thread in 2013 and got quite a bit of wonderful help getting off the ground for the first time since the Womble days.

So what channels do I delete for commentary? The bottom one?

The commentary should be on a completely different track. Hal’s V4 COD edit has three tracks (the edit, the edit minus added pod race music, the commentary). The first two tracks are 5.1 and have 6 channels. The third track is stereo with two channels. Delete the third track and one of the others depending on whether you want the extra music.

Again, I’m just giving broad strokes. Consult google and FE.org to figure out the specifics of your system if you need to.

Ohhhhhh I know the problem!

It’s not that I’m seeing multiple channels, it’s that once I import the edit, it shows up with all the channels as seperate mono tracks. Hopefully this helps you understand my dilemma. I wish it was just three tracks like you explained. I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 13 if that helps. Thanks

You should separate all elements before importing them, that way you make sure what audio track you wish to use. Use mkvcleaver or something like that.

So where would someone find the download link to this to watch?

Author

Just went to download these and all the links are dead, are they going to be back up again when the next version hits, and is there an ETA? Not trying to be entitled here by the way, just curious as I’ve heard so much good stuff! Thanks.

Yeah, I will update them when the new versions are finished, which hopefully will be sooner than later. The torrents should still work in the meantime. Thanks for your patience; Ep2 is taking a lot longer than expected.

Awesome, I will await the good news of completion! Good luck and keep going 😃

I was thinking: are you going to release the uncompressed (or “less compressed”) audio files for your PT edits like you did for your TFA:R edit ?

V4.1, which truly ought to be the final form of these edits, has hit bittorrent. I’ll be submitting it to FanEdit.info soon as well. Thanks for all your patience. I’m sorry to make you guys download these so many times, but I’m finished.

Unless LFL releases every deleted scene in HD quality for the 40th anniversary 😃

(don’t worry, I’m just kidding)

Thanks for all your patience.

Thanks to you Hal ! This is the only way I could rewatch the PT or would advise other people to watch/discover it. So thanks again for your dedication and the painstaking craftsmanship of your work.

I was seconds away from burning 4.0 to discs. Very happy I checked the thread.

Hal, did anyone ever resize the individual DVD case inserts for blu-ray? I’d rather put each of these in its own case than do the three-in-one that comes with the download.

No, OnlyOneKenobi did the covers and I haven’t heard from him in a few years now. I simply do not have the skill set to be able to modify the covers as you describe. 😦

It would be awesome if one of the many very talented cover art makers here could make a fresh set of BD covers for you.

Posting this here so I don’t bump my other thread too:

Exciting bit of fun! This final release of Labyrinth Of Evil contains the Backstroke Of The West subtitles synced up. Now it’s hands-down the best way to experience Episode III.

I’m watching this now via Plex with the alternate audio track without the additional music in the podrace, and the sound has cut out for 20 or so seconds at a time more than once (so far: Watto’s and Anakin’s exchange in the junk shop after Qui-Gon and company’s first visit, the morning-of-the-race deleted scene, and the deleted scene with the podrace salvage droids). Without having to dig through the thread, is this a known issue? I believe I’ve got the latest release.

I just verified the issue you are reporting, on the alternate audio track.
Well, crap damn. I’ll have to fix that. Please let me know all the spots you noticed this in as you watched the film. Thanks for reporting, and I’ll get a fixed and re-muxed version going.

I switched to the regular track after the podrace, so I’m not actually sure about the second half.

That’s all right; I’ll just start with the main audio track in my timeline, and re-remove the music. That’ll be the safest way to proceed. No idea on a timeframe, but it’s on my to-do list and will represent a major ‘open loop’ until I take care of it.
