For the sake of not looking like a total prick, Dear Slim by KJ52 is good as far as rap goes.

its funny that people blame eminem for the negative/controversial things he says in his songs...
when your not even realizing thats what he wants from you...
the more people who bitch and whine about his songs having a negative impact on kids just helps the guys publicity and therefore makes him do it more and more....

if you dont like what you hear don't listen to it... nobody is forcing you to!

or better yet if you don't want your kids listening to it don't let them...
be more of a parent and teach your kids right from wrong rather than just taking the easy way out and pointing fingers... or better yet making someone a scapegoat...

as Shimraa said if you dont like rap dont post in here... man... is it me or are people just trying to create controversy on here lately...

by the way one of my faves (old school though)

I don't listen to it, but I hang around people who have mercifully now lost interest in rap; they would play Emenim a lot, but most of the time they'd play far more annoying, far less intelligent (I can barely believe that's possible) rap like "Get Low" "Right Durrrr" and the like.

That is why I thought banning Jimbo permanently was a bad idea... With nobody to unite against, the forum begins fighting within itself.

I really am of the opinion that Eminem is not creating this new level of hate in people at all. Ignorance, hatred, bigotry, etc., all already exist in people to some degree. However, while most try to suppress it, Em just lets it out. It's his way of dealing with his past. Let it all out in the open. Let people see you are vulnerable and have problems. And that's how you deal with it. It's no different than a person whaling on a punching bag. Just more public.

But it's not causing more hatred. No more than already existed out there anyway. Hatred exists in this world. Ignorance exists in this world. Bigotry exists in this world. And they would exist with or without Eminem and rap music. Rap is not to blame.

Any violence that has occurred in the world since Em's music has come out is not because of him or any rapper for that matter. It would still have happened. Music, movies, and video games just become scapegoats because people don't know who else to blame. Look at Columbine. They tried to blame it on Marilyn Manson and his music. And the media did so very effectively. Only months later, when it was out of the spotlight, did it come to light that these two kids hated Manson's music. But does that matter? Nope. It's out there. Manson is indirectly responsible for Columbine. Didn't you know that?

How do you deal with pain and frustration? How do you let it all out so it doesn't get bottled up inside you and make you explode?

thank you Bossk!!
you read my mind exactly...

and Chaltab i know the music your talking about... it's made me lose interest in that genre of music myself...
thats why im a huge fan of classic rock, old school rap and even retro 80s music..

i personally feel the music scene itself places more emphasis on the way a performer looks now than the sound of their voice or the material of their writing...
shame too

and about jimbo i shall not say a word in hopes of preventing further conflict...

more songs...

luke you have just been esscalated in my books. You and bossk hit the nail on the head.and thanx fro the suggestions when i get a change ill dl them. BTW luke you should DL some of immortal techniques songs, if you like intellegent political rap, he is the best i have heard since 2pac. good sounds include harlem streets, and obnoxious, his best song by a long shot is dance with the devil, but i am warning you now that is by a long shot one of the most depressing songs i have ever heard. In the 7 min song he tells a story of a kid that grew up in harlem that is based on an urban myth. its my fav song by him but i cant listen to alot cus it is just so depressing.

I think Future Shop is a Canadian equivalent of Best Buy. Actually, I think Best Buy owns Future Shop but hasn't changed over the name.

Yep, here's a history from the Future Shop website...

Quote

In some 20 years, Future Shop has grown from a "one store operation" located in Burnaby, British Columbia, to Canada's largest, fastest-growing national retailer and e-tailer of consumer electronic products for the digital age with more than 100 stores from coast to coast and still growing.

Established in 1982, Future Shop's first store was located in Vancouver, British Columbia and showcased 4,000 square feet of the latest consumer electronic products. During the late 1980s, Future Shop followed an aggressive growth strategy, quickly expanding operations into the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.

By 1990, Future Shop had become Canada's largest electronics retailer. Throughout the 1990s Future Shop continued to expand into the remaining provinces in Canada and by fiscal 2001 annual sales had surpassed $2 billion.

Today, Future Shop and its more than 8,500 associates are committed to helping Canadians get MORE out of the technology they buy and offer the latest digital products along with a wide selection of brand-named televisions, computers, audio, entertainment software and hardware and appliances.

Future Shop stores are a division of Burnaby-based Best Buy Canada Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY)

Forgive me if I offend anyone, but my view is:

Rappers go in the garbage.

Say it out loud, and you'll realize how bad a joke it is

But in general, us Star Wars fans have better-than-average taste in music

I don't care for disco either, but has anyone here heard the "Star Wars Cantina" parody song (based on Copacabana by Barry Manilo). I got a kick out of it.

I know how that feels.

Now I will procede to dis a rap that not even the most adamant rock-haters like:

The US Dragonball GT theme song:
Quote

Witness the ultimate battle between the greatest of the greatest in all the worlds.
Take the Grand Tour, Grand Tour, GT.
Step Into the Grand Tour, Grand Tour, Grand Tour,
Step Into the Grand Tour, Grand Tour, Grand Tour, Dragonball GT!
Step Into the Grand Tour,
A brand new adventure begins,
Another challenge for Goku and his friends.
Now he's a Saiyan strong,
Pilaf makes him a child again.
The Dragonballs are turning,
burning to end the world and everything within:
the ultimate battle between good and evil,
Who's gonna win?
When the sand clock dictates the consquence
will our heroes have the strength
to be the last line of defense?

Shenron: Your wish has been granted.

Step into the Grand Tour, Dragonball GT!

The lyrics are pretty iffy, but when you actually hear it 'sung' it induces involuntary cringes.
