you don't need seamless branching to have a version of the movie that can play with or without a scene you wish to exclude from one version to another.
if you have maestro as a DVD authoring program, you can use what are called playlists. master the movie to include the scene and put it into maestro and mark that scene you wish to exclude as one of the chapters in the chapter list, then create two playlists. one of which includes this scene chapter, and the other that excludes it.
then on the menu you have two buttons. one plays one playlist, the other, the second one which includes your scene.
