Right. What you’re describing is exactly the benefit of what we call GOUT sync. However, I would say you do not need to trim the video (in fact, please don’t. Harmy and I put it there for a reason). Even in our releases none of the audio covers that 30 seconds and the tracks all have varying lengths, especially the commentary I believe. Vlc will show wonky run times if you fast forward to the last 30 seconds, but otherwise it’s not a problem.
If you do decide you want to trim the credits. I believe I can safely speak for harmy (and certainly myself 😛) when I say please just keep it for yourself instead of complicating things by distributing the unnecessarily altered version. 😃
Exactly! I muxed the 6 chan audio from 2.7 into my final copy of SSE 1.6 (minus the 81’ Crawl) and
it’s just fine! There would be NO reason to alter the video of 2.7 at all! After all I’m just
using the sound track. Good point Towne about the audio tracks being all different lengths already.
