What does a mature discussion about sex involve other than being really really vague about a person’s exploits?
You’re proving my point. Both by your need for details and you calling it an “exploit.”
Well if you’re not going to talk about it in some kind of detail then there’s no point in bringing it up because the conversation is going to be 10 seconds long. Also any type of sexual encounter (excluding rape of course) is an achievement and is something to be celebrated by both genders.
Well the fact that you see it as an achievement is sort of a part of the problem. I see it as more of a side effect of finding someone that you really care about (not to say there’s anything wrong with one night stands and the like). Seeing it as an achievement is the kind of mentality that treats women as objects.
One could go into all the dirty details but then it’s a rather personal thing, right? And not just personal for the individual but for their partner too. Thus where the maturity to show restraint in details comes in.
