"Reyncarnation" Theory

There is a theory out there that Rey is the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker. What do you think of it? How would you feel if they went through with it? Reincarnation is a concept that has never been explored in the Star Wars universe.

The Clone Wars/Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni also worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender, which revolves hevily around reincarnation, and they have confirmed that they are bringing a character from TCW into Rouge One. Different Star Wars projects get ideas, stories, and concepts from each other, so I believe that Avatar, deliberately or not, has brought a new concept to Star Wars.

God it’s a dumb theory. If that happens I’m gonna be pissed. For one thing, we’ve already seen what happened to Anakin after he died: He became a ghost. He didn’t get reincarnated. Same reason the “Snoke is Darth Vader” theory is extremely stupid. For another thing, it’s just plain dumb. “It’s like poetry so it rhymes” taken to the most obnoxious extreme possible. Why can’t Rey just be her own unique character?

Does anime have to be bad?

Yes.

However if it is bad that doesn’t automatically make it anime, so we’re at a bit of a standoff here.

That would be a terrible plot twist. Non sensical and cheesy to the highest degree. There are better ways to explain Rey’s competency than to use a bad fanfictionesque theory.

If you don’t have permission from the people who created the other fan edits you’ve posted to youtube, you might want to take those down as well.

Watch Fullmetal Alchemist and then tell me all anime is bad. I may write crappy scripts, but you don’t have to be a snob to have decent taste for anime.

It’s about two brothers who try to revive their mom but end up damaged. One brother ends up a disembodied soul in a suit of armor, and the other loses an arm and a leg (then gets artificial limbs from his childhood friend). They try to restore their bodies via the sinister Philosopher’s Stone, but discover a conspiracy involving immortality and primal embodiments of the Seven Deadly Sins. Alongside them is a total fucking badass who can create explosions by snapping his fingers and a mysterious serial killer.

There’s an original series and a reboot called Brotherhood. Watch the original then the reboot and ignore the movies (except probably the live action adaptation which is coming out).

There’s a lot of “good” anime like Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion, but I haven’t seen more than one episode of Bebop and nothing of Evangelion.

I’ve seen all of it. It’s all objectively bad.

Are you joking, or did you just not enjoy them because of overhype or cultural differences?

I too have seen all of them. I didn’t enjoy them, but not because they were overhyped or cultural differences. As a matter of fact, I wish American culture was more like Japanese culture as I wish it was socially acceptable to watch cartoon schoolgirls get molested by tentacles. I also like stuff that is overhyped because I like to be a contrarian to contrarians. So that wasn’t the problem.

No, I just didn’t think it was clear enough when anime characters were expressing emotions. I found the whole thing far too subtle and found it difficult to understand character motivations. It needed more ridiculously exaggerated character animation and more characters screaming things obnoxiously that no human would ever say. Plus, the acting wasn’t nearly bad enough for my tastes.

Way to stereotype an entire genre. Guys my age grew up watching anime on tv before we even knew it had a name. I can’t be the only one here who watched Speed Racer, Battle of The Planets, or Star Blazers?
