They'll never know for sure if the other DC titles like Green Lantern can carry a film until they give it a chance. But what can we expect from a Hollywood that poured millions of dollars into Halle Berry's craptacular "Catwoman"?

not trying to start anything but where did that come from.

there hasnt been a superman or batman film for a while (cartoon series yes, but nothing live action, which is how i infer your film comment and the fact that the other movies you mentioned were live action). Yeah there might have been talk of a new superman and a new batman, but it wasnt till after x-men and spider-man were released that anything really happened (at least as far as i know).

and off the top of my head, as far as recent comic book movies go they had Punisher, Daredevil, Spider-Man (1+2) X-Men (1+2), Catwoman, Hellboy, Elektra, Hulk
and in the works Fantastic Four, Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3, Batman Begins, Superman

And the problem with making comic book movies is not anything specific to the fact that they are from comic books but the general hollywood tendencie to 'jump on the bandwagon'. Basically Spider-Man and X-Men do well, partly cause of their comic book following and people know the story but also cause they were good movies, they didnt totally butcher the characters/story. Then hollywood says 'oooh, comic book movies sell' so they start pumping out these movies and figure they will just catch a ride on the money train. What they dont realise is that the story also mattes Daredevil was ok, I hear people that say they like it and people that say it was terrible. But it could have been just as awsome as X-Men or Spider-Man. Elektra was a spinoff movie from Daredevil, i dont know anyone that personally saw this but i believe most people say its not as bad as they thought it would be. Same with Hulk and Catwomen could have been awsome but hte story wasnt up to par.

i wont go on with each movie, but im sure you see the point...the reason the movies sucks is because hollywood thinks that the name alone will sell and they get people with little to no knowledge of the comic to work on the screenplay and make terrible scripts and just adapt the story to the big screen terribly.

So Chaltab, thats why hollywood considered it a worthy project, because in all honesty it could have been.
and HSvsIJ theres been quite a few movies out, i dont see how you find them to not give a change of pace, plus your comments make it seem like the only comic book movies that have come out are the 4 (xmen, spiderman, superman, batman) you mentioned and their new sequals for them every year, with hellboy being some indepentent movie done by a rogue studio and it satisfied (if only briefly) your desire for 'a new pace'
