I have FINALLY been able to buy some dual layer Blu-ray discs (I had no clue that you can’t walk into a shop and buy some), I burned it and I’m watching it right now.

A few comments (some of them were maybe addressed already, I’m sorry if I missed them) :

  • the crawl selection comes too soon, logically it would belong after selecting the “Play movie” option
  • the main menu is beautiful
  • not enough bonus features, I was surprised you didn’t include at least the stuff which came with the first mkv version. I don’t like empty space on expensive discs 😃
  • the left and right spaceship buttons should react automatically
  • do you have a raw unprocessed version of the mono mix somewhere? Whoever did the noise reduction was BRUTAL on it. Many of the voices sound very “limited”, like a horrible mp3, the same goes for a lot of sound effects. Some of the effects (e.g. Aunt Beru’s “machine” in the “Have you seen Luke this morning?” scene) are missing completely, probably it was considered to be noise. The music is heavily deformed too, mainly in the higher frequency range. Is there a chance that you still have a “raw” recording somewhere?
  • during the droid in the desert scene the video freezes for a few seconds (Cyberlink PowerDVD) and then plays like 1fps during the next few seconds

Now something positive - the video looks beautiful. I love your colour choices so far (I’m watching the Leia hologram scene right now), I love the grain, even the gentle flicker and weave are actually making the thing look like a 1977 film. There are some problems, but they’re so minor that they’re not worth mentioning and I think I was way too critical 😃

Thank you very much for your hard work (that goes to all people involved), I still can’t believe that within 13 years I went from trying to find a replacement for my crappy 4:3 VHS to having a wonderful 1080p scan of a theatrical print. Thanks again.
