Let's try to pretend I am a peacemaker now...
I think you guys just argue about something that has become already clear. I can see the point of Karyudo, saying that there has to be a more sophisticated way of resizing the picture than "toss every 4th line" because of the crappy output we would get (Hell, that toss every 4th line idea is so stupid a 10 year old would reject it). But as MeBeJedi says, an overall explanation of the resampling process would get other people in the forum more confused than aware. And Mathematics CLEARLY state, that unless you are God, whatever resampling method you use, you will statistically lose 25% of your detail. That piece of information ought to be pointed out to the people who try to make sense throughout all our techical speaking, and both of you have made that point.
