Yeah, you really cannot eat those cookies by themselves.

Mmmm... never tried that one. Do you just make cheesecake mix and slap it on or what? I wanna try it! And my wife will love it, too.

More or less, but you put the 'Nillas in mini muffin cups, slap the cheescake filling on and bake 'em. Simple, yet tasty.

Browsers-->Cookies-->'Nilla wafers-->mini cheesecakes. Seems pretty logical, for us @ least.

I use the Thunderbird mail client as well, if you only have outlook express I suggest you switch over to it too.

Okay, now I've developed a bit of a problem on my PC at work (go fig). I downloaded Firefox on that computer to use and it has reattributed the icons for major file types. Now, whenever I'm looking at the icon for a gif, jpg, tif, etc., they are all the standard Windows file icon. And all HTML files have the Firefox icon instead of the Dreamweaver icon which I prefer. I tried to change back the gif, jpg icons, but the computer can no longer find any of the standard file icons. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Where and how can I remedy this situation?

I finally found something that dosen't wotk on FireFox: this web intranet interface I'm developing for this client simply do not work on Firefox. I'm not sure what the problem might be, but I asume it's badly formatted javascript - which unfortunally must remain like that since it's server-side generated. I also realized it's not possible to edit the propertie formname.elements[n].style on client-side with firefox (to make a textbox red, for instance).

I'll try to publish an example of this, and you'll be able to see for yourselves.

I'd be clicking and dragging about 10,000 files.

Actually, I think I fixed it. Needed to change the designation back in "file types" in my properties menu. Pain to have to do, but it seems to have worked. I had to do something similar a year ago when I installed the Macromedia MX Suite. All image files were redesignated to whatever the Macromedia image editor is and I had to reassign them all to make sure they still opened in Photoshop when I doubleclicked on them.

If you're using Windows 2000 or XP:

1. Open Windows Explorer and browse to any file of the type you want to change.
2. Right-click on the file, go to "Open With", then "Choose Program..." (you might have to hold down the Ctrl key in Win2k for the "Open With" option to show up, I can't remember).
3. Pick the program you want to open the file and check off "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file."

When applications install themselves in Windows, they can "steal" file associations from other applications. Good applications ask you first, bad ones just do it.

If you're using an older version of Windows, you need to use the "File Types" menu you described.

Didn't realize it was so simple. Would've saved me some time. I'm in XP here.

I have both a Mac and PC at work. I've said that before. I've never had a problem with file reassociation in Mac. I always get the prompt asking me if I want to remember to open a certain type of file with a specific program, but the file icons never change. The only time an image file icon changes is if I've worked on it in Photoshop. Then the icon changes to reflect what the actual image is. Kinda nice. Small, but nice.

So I finally bit the bullet and am trying out Firefox. So far, so good. Any tips?

Never go back to IE...

Hm... That's all I can think of. Firefox does nearly everything by itself that you have to set options and buy extra progams for on IE.
