StarTrek Movie 11 is a go... — Page 2

Oh, OK; now I'm on the same wavelength. I personally think it was because they overproduced that pressing and needed to get rid of excess copies, especially after the widescreen debacle. Still wouldn't buy it. Give me the first one, and that's all.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

First one is all I want, too.

Is it even worth doing a Star Trek 11? I thought they'd kind of run out of steam after "First Contact". "Insurrection" had a few amusing moments but "Nemesis" was kind of boring and spent too much time making references to the Star Trek films of the past.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Have to agree.
First Contact was great, but I was not entirely impressed with the other 2.

I don't know. Nemisis had it's share of problems (Biggest: being a spiritual remake of Wrath of Khan made it hard to take seriously) but I enjoyed it, especially the Nebula battle. And a lot of that had to do with the fact I like the TNG cast better and that I hadn't yet seen the Wrath of Khan when I saw nemisis.

With an entirely new cast, I'm not sure what will come of it. As long as someone who knows a little a bout directing and startrek directs it.

If they're going with an entirely new cast, I think I see which direction they're headed in: can anyone say Starfleet Academy?

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I've heard that mentioned.

Back during the development of Enterprise, some people thought that was what the show was going to be about. A squad going through the academy together.

What do you guys think of this talk that the next season of Enterprise could go to Spike?

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

It would be a major boost for SpikeTV in all honesty. All they have going is syndication and some movies. An original series (or continuation of one) would be big for them. Hey, if some tech junkies are willing to foot part of the bill, why not?

I haven't heard "this talk", but I like that idea.

I hadn't either until Gundark mentioned it. But it makes perfect sense. If UPN is dumping the show, there are very few networks that would be likely to pick it up other than SciFi and Spike. And, since I think Spike already airs reruns of some of the ST series, it makes perfect sense. I could be wrong about Spike airing ST already, though. I just seem to recall something along those lines.

Another good thing about it is that Spike would probably keep it going for a while, too. If they can keep production costs down and keep donations coming in, this would be a great way for them to spur on future original programming for the netlette.

Sci-Fi channel occassionally plays the original series in 8-hour mini-marathons.

Spike TV played 2 hours of Deep Space 9 (11AM-1PM ET) followed by 2 hours of The Next Generation (1PM-3PM ET) every day. Every Monday and Tuesday I watch the last half of the first and the first half of the second as I eat lunch before leaving for work.
(The 11AM today was the one with Tossk, which I think is a rip-off of ESB's Bossk)

Voyager is in syndication, although I haven't seen it anywhere in my area for quite a while.

I would welcome Enterprise on Spike TV, so long as it doesn't replace MxC.

FINALLY! C'mon, let's burn Star Trek tapes on a big fire while we sing the Ewoks song!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Do you think anyone in the audience still cares enough about Star Trek to bother seeing an 11th film?
