Sad news. He hung in there though, 85 is a ripe old age to reach. He was still working too, he always made me laugh in Last of the Summer Wine.

R.I.P. to you two. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with the world.
Muhammad Ali - 74
He was placed on life support earlier today due to respiratory issues due to his advanced Parkinson’s disease, by which time they were making funerary arrangements, in my home state, of all places.
Ali was an incredible boxer and seemed like a decent man. He definitely deserved to be called the Greatest of All Time. I wasn’t around for his heyday, but I remember him lighting the Olympic torch in '96 and how much his demeanor at the time reminded me of my grandfather who was stricken with Alzheimer’s, and to be quite honest, I’m surprised he made it this long.

I wasn’t into sports let alone boxing, but he was everywhere in the 70’s. Almost like a force of nature. He even had his own Saturday morning cartoon show.
And who else could take on the man of steel to help save the world?
If only Howard Cosell was still around to do the eulogy.
Where were you in '77?

Why is everyone dying this year
Baby Boomer Harvest 😦
Another fighter goes down:
Kimbo Slice - 42
I didn’t know much about him aside from his unique look, name, and that he was an exceptional fighter, and I’m not even into MMA. I remember seeing a series of videos with him and Michael Jai White talking about how to throw a punch and it being incredibly interesting. I wanted to watch his fight in February, but missed it due to my life being a mess.
Something fucky went on here though, foul play or drugs. Either way it’s incredibly sad. 42, man.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Anton Yelchin, a charismatic and rising actor best known for playing Chekov in the new “Star Trek” films, has died at the age of 27. He was killed in a fatal traffic collision early Sunday morning, his publicist, Jennifer Allen confirmed.
.
Oh fuck no…
An incredible and underrated young talent.
So ridiculously young.
Oh my god. Bad enough we lost Leonard Nimoy last year. I hope Star Trek Beyond is dedicated in his memory. I really liked his take on Chekov.
Where were you in '77?
Jeeesus. That sucks. Dude was my age.

man this has been a bad year for Star Trek. Very sad. He so young. His family must be in shock.
Oh shit 😦 Poor guy 😦 He was a damn fine actor and so young…
Of all the people to die in 2016 I never expected him to be one. What a damn shame.
Not enough people read the EU.
I haven’t seen him in much, but what few performances of his I did see I enjoyed.
RIP
I wish I could offer a comment or depth or insight about the unfair cruelty of the world, but I cannot, so I’ll just say this was a sad tragedy, and that he will be missed. I hope for the best for those who knew him, though I can’t imagine any thigh which could ease their pain. RIP, man. I sure hope there’s a better place, but if there’s not, then thanks for what you have us in this one.

Not to be flip about this, but I think the take-away from this (much like “never try to catch a knife if you drop it”) is never put yourself between something that doesn’t move and several tons of car.
I feel like he might have just left it in neutral and gotten out, then tried to stop it when it started to roll (I can’t think of any other reason this could have happened by accident). What a terrible way to go.

Humans are the worst enemy of themselves.
Odd Thomas was oddly enjoyable.
RIP
He made a very strong impression in Trek. He brought a warmth and humanity to the part. No words for the tragedy of it. I hope his family and friends can find comforting somehow, somewhere.
Very tragic. I felt his take on Chekov was much better than the original’s.
What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.
