I need a PC rebuild very soon for all this stuff we have in store, so hopefully when ready I can get the same support Harmy did.

I’m in, for absolute friggin’ sure.

If this by chance was directed to me lol since I am the one that said it I appreciate this very much, as I said we have some very, very good SW stuff lining up and I am in serious needs of some upgrading and HD’s.

Great things are coming and the Team is so very excited about what we have in store, we will be more specific very soon but we need to get a lot lined up and we have more members now and a lot more to coordinate, but I am up for the challenge and think it is going to be very fun! so hopefully in a month or two I can start upgrading this thing to handle what is coming.

Thanks

I’m not sure what you mean by the re-appearing Star Wars logo. I’ve looked through it and the logo fades out and then I can’t see any trace of it after that. What exactly are you referring to? Maybe it was an issue with the encoding?

At about 42 seconds in, just as the the first pixels of “A New Hope” begin to appear, the Star Wars logo returns (just as those starts in the center of the screen are awkwardly fading out - if you’re fixing those then I guess the logo will be fixed in the process).

Ok I’ll double check what’s causing that on my end.

Just curious if anyone is working on a 4.1 channel audio for this?

Harry-Hen created a 5.1 track that emulates the 6 channel surround. You can find that and mux it in, as they’re both GOUT synced. Not one has made a 4.1 track, most likely since it’s not that common. (I do realize that the 6 track is essentially 4.1/4.2)

Gents (and ladies), I moved to China and am having a terrible time loading this website. It just dies dies dies. I want to catch up, but can’t get beyond a page or so. Is there somewhere that has an update on what’s what because I see a BD ISO is around, but Lord help me find out where and what’s on it, etc.

Hell, I hope this message actually posts. The net here is like the Dark Ages. Or it could be controlled by the Sith Lord.

PM’ing me would be cool.

Despite awaiting it eagerly since it was first announced here, I have only recently gotten around to acquiring v1.0.

It’s gorgeous. Fantastic clarity and detail, color feels right - I actually prefer the slightly desaturated filmic look even to Despecialized. If Lucasfilm released this on Blu-ray, I wouldn’t complain.

I honestly feel it’s the most correct-looking version of the film I’ve ever seen.

I’d love to see v1.6 but I don’t see a Spleen invite in my near future, and I’m more than happy. hopefully the ISO or at least an MKV will show up somewhere else in the future.

Okay so v1.6 is GOUT synced? I remember that v1 wasn’t.

Yes, it is.

Ok I figured out what you were talking about. Oddly it was still there even after fixing the stars. I ended up clicking through all the layers one by one to figure out where it was coming from. I figured out it was from the 97 crawl. The mask I used to remove the 97 SW logo was off for about two frames before ANH comes into view, so what you were seeing was the very bottom of the SW logo peeking through the mask. I fixed the mask and you can’t see it anymore.

I also believe I came up with a solution to the static grain. It looks good in the After Effects preview, but I’ll see how it looks when it’s all rendered out.

I’m on vacation with my family right now, so I apologize if it takes a bit longer than it normally would.

Sounds good. I don’t think anyone is in a hurry.

When you say the “bottom” of the 97 crawl, do you just mean the last few frames (and/or when it’s farthest away?) I’m pretty sure you could see most of the “Star Wars” text and not just the bottom of it - just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing. Or maybe I’m mistaken and it was just the bottom of the letters.

As for the grain, I think even adding a bit more artificial grain to the image could do the trick. It shouldn’t be jarring given how much is on the next shot. But I’m curious to see what you’ve come up with!

The only thing I could find resembling what you were talking about was a few frames of the bottom part of the logo sticking through the mask. There may have been one frame where the whole thing was exposed, but I can’t remember exactly. Either way, it’s been fixed. If it’s something else, I may end up needing you to post a screenshot or something.

This is ultimately what I ended up doing. The artificial grain doesn’t match perfectly, but it’s close enough that I don’t think anyone will complain.

I’m trying to upload but it’s going extremely slow. The Internet connection here kind of sucks so I may just wait until I get back home Thursday to upload.

Looking at it now, it’s not as though the entire logo is crystal clear when it’s that far away, but I think it’s the entire logo as it looks at that distance. The brightest or least transparent part seems to be the top pixels of “WARS”.

Edit: Wait. Am I an idiot and it’s just that the logo is accidentally disappearing behind the stars for a while? And then once the center/middle star mask disappears, we get the last two frames of the Star Wars logo as it should look?

What is this glitch? I cant get the framecount but its after the line “your sad devotion to that ancient religion hasnt helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes…” when the camera cuts,

taken from the 1.6 proper bluray release, its been there since 1.0

Is it the last frame of the shot? Could be the result of fixing a glue frame.

Author

I just pulled it up, it’s the first frame of the choking shot. It’s hardly noticeable.

Hey guys. I apologize, I was going to upload the crawl to send to williarob yesterday when I got home from vacation, but I ended up getting home extremely late (long drive) and was just to tired to worry about it. But thankfully I have today off work, so I’m uploading to drive right now. Should be a couple hours, then I’ll shoot the link over to Williarob. It looks pretty good to my eyes, but if there ends up being any further issues, I am of course willing to fix them.
