Everything is GOUT synced now, so if you have despecialized then you can easily remux what you want from that.

That’s great. I have v2.5 and towne’s v2.7 so I’ll try to use the 5.1 DTS-HDMA track from one of those. Thanks!!!

I don’t recall it being mentioned, so perhaps I just missed it (as the forums behave strange on all browsers I have except my phone now for some reason) but is this newer release simply a tweak of the first scan?

If you are referring to v1.0 , it’s a very big tweak!

I thought I recognized your foul stench when I entered this forum!

But still the original scan, then, correct?

Mostly, with some replacements and missing frames added from other scans.

With the MKV version now on Spleen, I downloaded that and tried to mux in the 5.1 audio using MKVToolNix. While watching the movie, the audio seemed synced, though I still suffered some of the same picture issues as my previous attempts. Here are five frames I grabbed to showcase what I’m talking about specifically(the first and last pictures are only posted for reference for how long the glitch persists): http://imgur.com/a/eMsP2

This glitch always occurs (but in varying areas) with the use of MKVToolnix, MakeMKV and TSMuxer. Now that I remember, I not so recently used MakeMKV to convert the ESB Grindhouse ISO into an MKV file without these glitches. Because this is consistent over all three programs, I’m assuming it has something to do with my computer itself.

I haven’t been able to find help online. Does anyone have any knowledge about this issue? I’d like to have the SSE with the 5.1 audio track, but no one yet has uploaded it to M/S, and I’m willing to do so if able.

Thank you for any help in advanced.

Hey guys, I definitely won’t get to fixing the crawl until Saturday. Super busy today and tomorrow. Sorry guys. But I’ll send Williarob the lossless file as soon as it’s done. Hopefully there won’t be any more issues.

I don’t want this to sound like asking for technical help too much. After I made this into an MKV with a bunch of other audio tracks from the DE, I noticed that the Jaxxon mono track will force the video to play at something like half speed. Any reason for this? Should I just make another MKV?

I’d just try it again and see what happens, cause that does sound odd(not that I’m the expert; hardly).

So, am i crazy?

the file i downloaded from a.b.starwars hashes differently from what is on the spleen. the torrent checked to like 99% from what i had. anyone else have the same? i even re-extracted from the rar’s and got the same difference:

Thank you Williarob! This version is amazing. I am very happy, especially with the spanish track since I am from Latin America.

Very strange dahmage.
The version that ended up on spleen was just the exact extracted ISO from Usenet. No changes were made. Not intentionally, anyway.
Maybe Williarob can confirm which hash is correct based on the original file?

(I also get 183e36fe4591e7f947b9d63d07f1bb920f1039a35e9853355d835e3a33df132f)

Joined today to say thank you. I still have v1 of the SSE and I cannot believe that it is still being tweaked as of today to be as close to the original cut of the film as possible, all the way to a version 1.6!

Are any of you considering completing TeamNegative1’s Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back project?

Thanks to you and RU.08 for confirming. The files are so close to one another that it must be a very minor change. (as i said, my file hashed to like 99% of the torrent). If i hadn’t re-extracted it from the rar files i would have just figured i had an error on my side.

Can anyone else who got this from a.b.starwars compare? thanks!

As far as I can tell though there are no errors in the file.

Also Rob, could you please post the x264 settings (as well as the version you used and whether it was 32bit/64bit), that will allow me to encode the true 1981 craw to the correct settings. I’ve already got it ready (based on the 1.0 Extras file), I just need to know the settings. Also, if you have a better quality version than the one from the 1.0 extras please let me know (even if it’s just the same but at a higher resolution, given that I have to crop and resize the file from an already 1080p encode). Thanks.

Really great work on 1.6 by the way!

So, the one on the spleen is presumably corrupted?

Author

This happens every time someone extracts the ISO. Why extract it? Why do anything to it?

I didn’t use x264 to encode it, but can certainly encode a compatible file for you. Just need to see if I can dig up the lossless version…

Do you mean they extracted it and rebuilt it for the spleen version?

Honestly, after all the hard work that went into making it a proper blu-ray, it pains me to see people just ripping out the video to make MKVs, but I get it.

Meanwhile, just for fun and because I enjoy tinkering in After Effects, I put together this short parody-promo video:

Well, SnooPac do you mind if i replace your upload with the fixed file or do you want to fix it? good news is it should only require minor download to sync the changes.
