Blackout- which program are you using? And did you extract the .iso first?

if the crawl and flyover is 0:02:27:058 long, do I want to start the audio for the second part at 0:02:27:058 or 0:02:27:059?

You cut it at the same point. If the flyover is 0:02:27:058 then you make two parts:

#1: 00:00:00:000 - 00:02:27:058
#2: 00:02:27:058 - End

Many thanks, I think I’ve got it. Now to order some BD-50s.

MKVToolNix and yes. My specs are probably just not up to par.

Btw, Kitt is the person I have been talking about.

I’ve just made two MKVs, one with mkvtoolnix and the other with makemkv (so I can see the results). Can you give me a specific example of a problem with yours? It is certainly possible that mkvtoolnix is having difficulty joining together certain types of tracks while maintaining interleave points perhaps that’s the source of the problem?

One problem with mine was the audio syncing: notably while the admiral is mocking Vader’s religion and while Porkins says “I’m right with you Red 3”. There were other places but those two pop in mind. There were also horizontal video tears sprinkled throughout, ranging from minimal to very offensive. Those varied with each export, however.

You should try out makemkv. It’s free, easy to use, and I’ve only had great results with it.

No wonder I couldn’t find it, I searched Star Wars Silver Screen Edition or Star Wars 35mm. Thanks, I see it now.

Could someone post an extended image gallery of V1.6? Right now I don’t have enough space to download it.

Have you seen these?

I just checked that point and they were both in sync. So I’m not sure what caused your problem, but I am pleased that it doesn’t appear to be an inherent problem of mkvtoolnix. 😄 But certainly yes makemkv beta will also perform the job wonderfully, and there are certain types of video streams that it handles better than mkvtoolnix when joining together from branching. But as this was an audio problem and not a video problem, and as x264 would be one of the best streams supported for joining, that’s unlikely to be the problem.

Whatever the problem was, it looks like kitt1987 had it too, and deleted his attempt.

I’d speculate his issues were more related to the upload itself rather than something wrong with the actual video file. He says he’ll try again today, but I can speak for him, myself, and many others that we’d all be the more happy the sooner anyone can push out a proper working version on MS.

Heh, I wonder if the two files could be joined with a simple commandline “cat” of the two files (that’s how I seamlessly patch together AVCHD recordings from my camcorder which are automatically split every 4GB).

So if I wanted to make an AVCHD version of this, what free programs are out there?

EDIT: Or DVD5.

Ok guys I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with the torrent but I’ve created the mkv based on the '77 version from the iso. It is up on M/S. I’ve only included the two English soundtracks with it. Let me know if everything looks good to you guys. Seems to be ok on my end.

Is someone still working on an improved '81 crawl that will be available to download?

Yes, I promise I will get to that as soon as is convenient, but there has been a lot of drastic, difficult change going on in my life, so I please just ask for everyone to be as patient as possible. Worst case scenario is I won’t be able to get to it until Saturday.

Again, I apologize guys.

No pressure. Just wanted to make sure if it was still in the works and was going to be shared with us. Don’t want to waste a 50gb bd-r on the current ISO if I’ll be able to get an improved crawl.

Thanks Darth Lucas, Willarob, and everyone else contributing to this project.

I’m working on the 81 crawl as well, but June is proving to be too crazy a month to get anything done.

Someone uploaded a couple of 5.1 audio tracks(one FLAC and one DD 5.1) to the 'Spleen earlier this year for the first version of SSE. Will those work with the new SSE 1.6 or will new audio tracks need to be done to match this version?
