It’s funny how a lot of people at the time couldn’t accept that the prequels were objetively bad, yet with stuff like Wild, Wild West and the Tristar Godzilla they were like “wow, this is terrible” immediatly.
That’s because the latter two are reboots/spinoffs which take place in their own continuities separate from their source material and involve none of the original creators of said source material. The PT, on the other hand, is a whole 'nother animal.
