So while I’m trying to get it from usenet (you convinced me guys for trying the 1 week trial, but it claims it will download next 12 days) I noticed it’s on myspleen (thanks).

But what the hell is wrong with negative1?

I think the issue with myspleen, specifically, is due to the site removing a preview of his because it allegedly contained scans he didn’t have permission to use. I don’t think he is opposed to the release itself.

Obviously, this is just my interpretation as he has not made any attempt to clarify his intentions. However, his deletion spree began right after that preview was removed. He is temporarily “allowing” this one so long as no one attempts to discuss behind the scenes aspects in the myspleen comment section.

As far as I understand it, he started Team Negative 1, who released version 1.0, but due to some alleged misconduct by Negative1/Rogue1, the team disbanded and now some former members of that team are continuing the work without him. (shoot me if I’m wrong)

I for one, am VERY grateful for this release.

Probably, but part of the point of releasing it this way is it isn’t hard to remux it on your own if it is something important to you. So, keep that in mind if, for some reason, a version like that doesn’t pop up.
