I can’t post much, I’m getting an error, but I’ll try to fix it.

Does this fix it?

What if you replaced Snoke with Zordon from Power Rangers? Cheesier and you could lip match.

That might work as well. I’m afraid that going with the old emperor will be too recognizable, so I’ll give that a shot! 😃

You could use some of the concept art as matte paintings and replace some of the CGI shots with bits of them leaving small windows of movement suggestive of being composited into the painting.

I am really looking foreword to seeing what this project will look like when it’s done! Here are most of my ideas:

•Use original Lucasfilm logo

•Make opening crawl less “polished”

•Restore “Finn will be fine” and “Kylo finds the Falcon” scenes

•Snoke should be a person with makeup/prosthetics (like the original Emperor from TESB)

•Planet explosions should be redone

•Lightsaber + laser effects should be redone to simulate a hand animated style

•Elaborate shots should be simplified.
Examples: Falcon chase on Jakku, Maz’s Castle falling apart, Air battles, exc.

•Simplify holograms (if possible)

•Remove Rey’s “stop holding my hand” line

•Add a “choppy” effect to CGI creatures to simulate stop-motion

•Add subtle errors to ship battles (matte lines + perspective issues)

Hey, I’ve been having a problem with After Effects, and I decided to finally give in and ask for help.

Here’s the problem: For my edit of TFA, I need to mask around certain laser blasts and Lightsabers, but for some reason my masks will come out of sync at random times. All of my comps are at the same frame rate, and I mask each individual frame. Nowhere else online have I seen someone else have this problem, so I have to ask this thread.

Help me OriginalTrilogy, you’re my only hope!

If you’re masking and key framing every individual frame, then I don’t see how it could go out of sync.

Me neither. Once I finish masking, I’ll go away and do something else, but when I come back to that same sequence, a few frames will be out of sync, and it will go back to normal. This is an every time thing, so I doubt it’s something else I’m doing on the project. 😦

I’ve had this same problem, no idea why it happens. I gave up on my editing experiments because of it. If you figure it out let me know.

edit:
though now that I think about it, I read some where that it might be either what program you use to convert file types or what file type you convert to. Are you using MP4?

I am working with AVI files, and even before I render them they’re screwing up.

I don’t really know how to help you without basically sitting right next to you and watching your process through to see where you’re going wrong. Sorry man.

Are you doing every single frame? Or are u key framing one frame, then skipping ahead a few frames and adding another key frame? That’s the only way I can see it going in and out of sync like that.
But if you go through frame by frame and add a key frame for every one, there really isn’t any way I can think of that it should go in and out of sync in the way you describe.

AGREED. DO NOT INVITE ME TO YOUR HOUSE.

Feel free to invite Frink though, he’s much more fun.

Could it possibly be messing up because of my settings, or something else I am doing. Could it be that each frame isn’t loading properly and I’m not masking in the right positions? I am completely lost! 😦

So I’m currently trying to decide if I should keep the cross-guard lightsaber or not. I like it, but it doesn’t really fit in with the OT, thoughts?

I think you’re underestimating the pain in the arse it’s gonna be to get rid of those crossguard blades.

It would be, but so are most of the changes I’m planning on doing.
