Thank you! Found and fixed both of these.

To fix it, I’d think you’d have to have the proper frames on hand, meaning the problem was introduced down the line. So, what caused that? Was it a mistake of automated cleanup?

Looks like an auto cleanup mistake. Fixing it required locating the original frames, color matching them, registering them, and then essentially just cutting out the laser bolt so that it sits on top of the clean frame in the right place. 10 minutes work, accomplished before breakfast.

Just finished rechecking the whole film (found about 5 more shots that had been color corrected after cleaning, but the fixes had not been updated with the new colors. So those are all fixed now too.

If there is nothing else, the re-encode will begin soon. I’m also going to see about switching the English stereo track with one from the despecialized edition.

Have you considered putting some foreign language audio tracks on the BD50 aswell, like any German track available out there for instance?

35mm Spanish audio is included. Not going to include any others though as that would require new menu buttons and more programming.

Would you use the English theatrical stereo DTS-HD MA track from Harmy’s, then? I don’t recall if you had this problem, but I needed to swap it in with multi-avchd rather than the software you’re using. Problem is (for me) that multi didn’t place nice with branching titles.

Yes. I just used EAC3To to extract the lossless track from the DTS-HD MA as a .wav, then using VirtualDub I loaded the SSE video and Audio -> Audio From Another File… selected the new .wav. Edited the footage to End of flyover, File -> Save as Wav; revert edits and this time edit for the rest of the film and save .wav. Then simply refresh the assets in the authoring software and boom, New English Stereo Audio track to replace the old glitchy one.

If I needed to, I could re-encode as DTS-HD and then bring that in, but PCM is fine for this disc.

Well, if there are no more bugs, I shall launch the encoder and begin the lengthy rebuild process…

Make it so, number one.

Thank you very much for this!

We cannot wait for this Williarob, now get it done so we can move on to bigger and better things lol.

I got permission from the negative 1 group to post this Team Blu announcement here so here goes.

Hello everyone on OT!

Today I’m very happy to announce that Harmy, Williarob, schorman13 and DrDre are joining Team Blu!
Their combined knowledge, skill and passion will be a great addition to the team as well as to the quality of future releases, now this really, really has created some fantastic opportunities for us, and will be passed on to all of you.

Stay tuned!

*edit, I deleted the info about our own SW projects, that was not important in this thread, sorry.

DJ, will it be possible to upload SSE 1.6 to blurg? This is exciting news! So many possibilities now.

That sounds like a hell of a team. Is this for non SW projects? Is it for pre existing projects of the new team members or only Team Blue projects and other new endeavors?

I do not have access to BluRG anymore, haven’t had it for a long time.

We will still do our non SW projects, for example The Black Hole, NOTLD 68 Ultimate Edition etc, but we feel, You_Too and I, that we need to at least finish our old 1997 SE Set, and I am sure you guys know The Warriors is about to get uploaded.

Regarding Star Wars, well now you Guys are going to have to wait and see, everything will be brand new, no more GOUT projects at all, we will make announcements once we can and have more to share, but these are very exciting times to say the least for all of us!

We do have some great non SW stuff as well that can end up being pretty damn exciting to, but we will share more on that later.

Thanks Guys and I cannot wait to start working with these new great Guys, they all 4 bring a lot to the table and are very nice to chat with, very cool dudes.

Man, I wish I could unsee the missing lasers… 😕 Of course I want this latest version but I don’t have access to a dual layer bluray burner (heck, just to burn the single layer discs I was already having to pester a friend who I don’t really know all that well to come over and use his computer) so I was content to keep watching the first release. But the missing lasers are gonna bug me every time now…

Does anyone know just how many lasers were erased? Or even a rough estimate?

Only 4 have been pointed out to me, and they have all been restored for v1.6. (The other two are in the trench run and presumably you didn’t miss them.)

Changes since v1.5

  • Subtitles now correctly sync with video track
  • Removed emoticon from THX TN1 bumper
  • Letterboxing is now pure black
  • Replaced 2 missing lasers in Tantive shootout
  • Replaced English Stereo Laserdisc Audio with Hairy Hen’s English Stereo track
  • Corrected blotches that appeared in a few scenes (e.g. “Mission, What Mission?”)
  • Corrected warping in the corner of the Sandcrawler shot
  • Additional Cleanup to a handful of shots (very minor)
  • Darth Lucas Updated the '81 crawl to use Poita’s 35mm Starfield

Changes since v1.0

  • All missing frames restored
  • Restored the two missing laser bolts in Reel 6 Trench Run
  • Restored Technician’s leg in first frame of Reel 6
  • Fully GOUT Sync’d so if you don’t like our Audio, feel free to replace it
  • Additional Cleanup (mostly white dust, but also the orange Tantive marks, the
blue splotch when Vader enters and one of the homemade Reel Change marks at the
    end of Reel3).
  • Some shots (e.g. in Ben’s hut) replaced using alternate print sources
  • Sharpening
  • Blue Color tint reduced
  • Full Re-encode from lossless master at a much higher bitrate using professional
    grade encoding software
  • Blu-ray format featuring Seamless branching of the '77 & '81 Crawl,
Interactive Menus with beautifully rendered 3d motion backgrounds created for us
by Donny Versiga, Fully functional Popup Menus, correct Chapter Stops,
    subtitles, etc.
  • English Stereo Audio from Japanese LD (PILF-1236)
  • Original 35mm Spanish Audio from the LPP print used for ~85% of the film
  • New capture of the Mono Mix captured directly from Jaxxon’s Swedish 16mm film

Reporting Problems

While every effort has been made to ensure it all works as advertized, it
is likely that there are still some bugs in the menus. With this in mind,
might I suggest that you test everything with a software player (such as
PowerDVD 16) BEFORE you burn it to a BD-R, or if you have a BD-RE, now is
a good time to use it.

If you find a menu problem (and if I am able to fix it) then I can do a
“partial Mux” of the disc which will only alter the files that need to be
changed. What this means is that as people find problems and I fix them, I can
post only the updated files (a relatively small download) and you can replace
them in your ISO file. (The ISO file can be opened in a program like WinRAR,
and you can just extract the contents, replace the menu files and then use a
program like imgburn to create a new iso and/or burn it).

Please report any issues you encounter with playback / menu functions in the
relevant thread on OriginalTrilogy.com.

We are aware that:

  • There is still a fair amount of dirt, dust and scratches on the film.
  • Most of the light smearing issues reported in v1.0 are still there.
  • Colors are far from perfect (probably still too much red in some shots)
  • The film is grainy, and the amount of grain varies from shot to shot. We
don’t care if you hate it, it’s part of the FILM. No effort was made to reduce
the amount of grain so what you see is how it is on the print.

This is likely to be the final release using this scan, so any other glitches
you find in the movie, you will have to fix yourself.

Some notes on the Blu-ray

  • If you are in the middle of the film and decide to go to the main menu,
and from there you watch the bonus features, you will not be able to
automatically resume the film from where you left off. This behavior is
due to the fact that you are at that point 2 titles away from the film. You
were on the film, then you were on the menu. From there you can resume, but by
moving to the trailer, the only thing you can now resume is the menu. Make
sense? HOWEVER, if in the middle of the film you use the PopUp Menu and watch
the trailers from there, the film will resume automatically as soon as the
    trailer ends.
  • If you want to get back to the '77/'81 decision page, move to the Options
button and click DOWN on your remote control. Note: this only works on the main
menu (not the popup menu), and then only on the first page. If you are on the
Bonus, or Options, or Scenes Menus, just click down until you are back at the
main menu, then simply move RIGHT to Options and then DOWN.
