Looks like an auto cleanup mistake. Fixing it required locating the original frames, color matching them, registering them, and then essentially just cutting out the laser bolt so that it sits on top of the clean frame in the right place. 10 minutes work, accomplished before breakfast.
Just finished rechecking the whole film (found about 5 more shots that had been color corrected after cleaning, but the fixes had not been updated with the new colors. So those are all fixed now too.
If there is nothing else, the re-encode will begin soon. I’m also going to see about switching the English stereo track with one from the despecialized edition.
