They could create a fem 005 or a homosexual 0069 and bring in 007 as a supporting character, as Marvel brings other characters to support the individual hero films. A fem 00 might work if done well. I do think your idea for female, gay or of non-European origin double O agents that aren’t Bond getting spin off movies is a brilliant idea though.
Bond is a pastey faced toff, male heterosexual. His entitled position informs everything he does. His colleques could and should be a diverse bunch.

Yeah, you can try out other characters in their own movies without DESTROYING characters beloved by others, but then, that's the point of changing them.
I would prefer the resources go to making a truly great Bond film. They were on the right track. Craig is my favorite Bond and I appreciate the effort to make it a little more real and gritty, but I think they went too far. Skyfall and Casino were fine, but a little small. QOS and the last didn't live up, imo. I'd like a big, high-stakes action/adventure.
