Then why include the OT at all if it’s pretty much retconned?
God still works amazing things in those peoples lives and their stories held in those books have great power.
He also fucks a lot of people up in the OT as well. Job is a good example and the Amorites are another.
God didn’t even do anything to Job, he just let Satan do those things (which he would let Satan do anyway).
He let Satan do those things to win a bet…I mean…
Also Satan was different in the OT.
Plus Job is considered to be fiction/poetry and not to be taken literally.
The Amorites were a bunch of bullies going around murdering whoever they wanted and worshipping false gods as well as ignoring the christians who warned them of what god was going to do if they didn’t cut it out. God’s punishments were severe but all of them could have been prevented.
I didn’t say they were innocent or not. It was just an example of someone who God fucked up. But for people who didn’t deserve to die God killed 42 people for making fun of Elisha’s bald head in 2 Kings 2:23-24.
