They’re working overtime to make sure Thor’s solo is interesting this time. Great cast. Hope it’s good.
What if Thanos is working for a higher being…
Being that can move through time and space unseen…
And that being is…
STAN LEE
That’s why he’s in all the movies!
Stan’s probably this guy

^As they should! Thor 1 & 2 are easily Marvel’s weakest films, when they aren’t shockingly dull, they’re actually annoying (that intern(?) being the worst offender). I’ve never been the biggest fan of the character, but he definitely deserves better movies.
.
I actually quite liked the first Thor, which was surprising since I was never a big fan of him in the comics. It had a good story and pretty decent character development. I actually wasn’t a big fan of Captain America growing up either; I thought he was lame. But I like them both a lot in the movies. I would agree that Jane’s intern is annoying though. And I’m not a huge fan of Natalie Portman’s acting in the film. I don’t really buy her as a scientist. But aside from the few little things that were a bit annoying, Thor was a pretty good movie. Incredibly Hulk and Iron Man 2 were in my opinion far weaker films as far as Phase 1 goes. Thor 2 was weak, but by no means a bad movie. It really just suffered from a weak, boring villain. Had the villain been more interesting, I think Thor 2 would have been great. Unfortunately, weak villains has become Marvel’s bread and butter at this point, Loki being the only real exception.
Jeff Goldblum? Man I’m in.

Two-time Oscar®-winner Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine,” “Carol, “Cinderella”) joins Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, along with Jeff Goldblum (the upcoming “Independence Day: Resurgence,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Jurassic Park”) who joins the cast as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson (“Creed,” “Selma”) who will bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen, and Karl Urban (“Star Trek” trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”) who will add his might to the fray as Skurge.
Rounding out the cast for the film is three-time Oscar®-nominee Mark Ruffalo (“Spotlight,” “The Kids Are All Right,” “Foxcatcher”), reprising his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk from “Marvel’s The Avengers” and Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible."
Thor’s new cast members join returning stars Chris Hemsworth (“Rush,” “In the Heart of the Sea,” “Ghostbusters”) in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston (“Crimson Peak,” “The Night Manager,” “Kong: Skull Island”) as Thor’s adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Golden Globe® and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Idris Elba (“The Dark Tower,” “Luther,” “Beasts of No Nation”) as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; and Academy Award®-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins (“Silence of the Lambs,” “Nixon,” “Hitchcock”) again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard.
“Thor: Ragnarok,” the third installment of Marvel’s popular Norse Super Hero, is directed by Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Taika Waititi (“Two Cars, One Night,” “What We Do in the Shadows,” “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”). Kevin Feige will produce the film, joined by executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee.
No Beta Ray Bill?
I’m out.
Not enough people read the EU.
If you’ve perused the General Section today you probably already saw the news but it was announced today that in September Netflix will be the exclusive streaming home for all future MCU content!

Perhaps, then, there is hope for Agent Carter after all???

Saw civil war for the third time last night. God damn what a gold movie.

I agree, as far as I’m concerned the MCU is going from strength to strength. Civil War has its critics, and some of their points might be valid, but to create a movie with that many moving parts and have it work as a standalone story, part of a larger arc, as a sequel, as a setup for the future and have it not only be coherent but exciting, surprising and fun takes a serious amount of skill.
Like you said, gold!
The magic is ruined!!! What have you done?!
Finally got around to watching Jessica Jones.
It’s a good show, but I think it would be better to have a full movie, especially since I don’t have a lot of free time. Same goes for Daredevil and any of the new announced shows.
I think the shows should be a background for the events in the films, a bonus for viewers who can’t get enough. Making shows based on the individual superheroes seems a bit limiting, especially since no proper crossover with the movies is planned as of now.
It also completely screws any kind of pacing when doing marathons.
Well this is some exciting news. Back when the idea of Sony rebooting Spider-Man for the third time was a real possibility, many people suggested that Donald Glover should become the newest incarnation of the character, but instead of the classic version of Peter Parker, that Sony should adapt Miles Morales to the big screen. That has obviously not been the case, and after Tom Holland‘s performance in Captain America: Civil War, it is hard to argue that Sony and Marvel made the wrong choice. That said, Glover has previously expressed his desire to play the character and while that probably won’t ever happen for him, he is going to be involved with the universe.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Glover is in talks to join Spider-Man: Homecoming in an unknown role, with Deadline (also claiming the exclusive mysteriously enough) reporting that he is joining, seeming as the deal has already closed. No word has come out just yet about who he could be playing but getting someone as charismatic as Glover to be involved is always great. He joins Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, Kenneth Choi, and Michael Barbieri as the supporting characters in the film, with Robert Downey Jr. and Marisa Tomei returning as Tony Stark and Aunt May respectively.
People act like not casting Donald Glover for Spider-Man is like spitting in the face of the fans, but Miles Morales is like 16 years old and Donald is in his 30s.
Either way, I’m really happy to see him in the universe in some capacity. He’s cool and I like him.

To be fair, Maguire and Garfield were both in their late 20s both playing teen Spidey’s. I am glad they got a younger actor for the MCU Spidey, though.
.
Who the f*** is Mike Morales? For all people who are not real comic book geeks Spiderman is and always will be Peter Parker, it would be very stupid to do somebody else
Mike Morales is the black/Hispanic Spider-Man of the Ultimate Marvel Universe. He apparently became Spidey after the Peter Parker of that world was killed.
And in case anyone’s asking, no, I haven’t read those comics. I just Google around a lot.
Miles* Morales
It’s Mike now.
Sorry, Miles.
Mike forgives you.
I’m obviously not a comic book geek 😃

SSSIIIIIIGGGGHHHHH.
Makes me wonder what the response would have been if they had turned BLACK PANTHER into a Brazilian transsexual and reset the kingdom to Rio.
I learned to read beyond a first grade level because of my great desire to understand my SPIDERMAN comics. Parker/Spidey became an ideal for me. “With great power comes great responsibility.” I haven’t purchased a comic since I turned eleven, but they have effected me.
They could have easily created a KISS-OF-THE-SPIDER-SHEMALE dressed in black leather with pink fish-net. Instead, they pulled them out of the male interns and pissed all over the perceptions of a character of real significance to a great many CHILDREN, CONFUSED TEENAGERS, and nostalgic adults.
Thanks for representin’, Marvel!
