Thanks for the support, yoda-sama. We need more people like you to come to these boards.

How many people here are going to CIII in April?

I was hoping to - I went to CII and my grandparents live in Indy, three and a half hours away - but I don't think it's gonna happen...

Thanks go to Daniel, for taking it off the forum.

Anyhow, CIII... well, I don't think there's any way I could afford to go, but I will consider it.

I was planning on going but I've used up all my savings keeping my Cable Connection and phone running this last few months.... BUT I'm kicking the idea of selling my VW GTI (If I do that I might be able to go still )

Hi all- I'm new to this forum.

I bought a DVL-700 for my own transfer but I'm considering just sending a hard drive to Laserman for the X0 video files. Is this still a possibility?
If so, there are a few more questions: Form factor (raw drive or in a fw case?), where do I send it, do you want a fee, etc?
If someone wouldn't mind e-mailing me directly, it would be appreciated.

Joel Welcome to the forums. As far as I know your best option would be to ask LM to buy a HD for you and mail it to you (both at your expense) ... or to place an order with an online Australian retailer for the HD and have it sent to LM. The other thing is that LM hasn't told us when the transfer will be available for distribution. I haven't seen Laserman post anything too recently, but I'm sure he'll reply when he has the time. Zion or MeBeJedi may also be able to give you some idea of when the raw captures will be available.

Laserman,

Any updates???

I'll have to update for LM, as he is away on a shoot for 3 weeks. He has the files, but no one else has received them as of yet.

Sorry that there isn't better news, but Darth RealLife has reared his ugly head.

That was a good book. So were the other (first) two in the Baroque Cycle trilogy. I read each one in a week -- a "fast read" from the local public library. At about 800+ pages each, and characters like Roger Comstock, Marquis de Ravenscar and spellings like "phant'sy", I don't think the library quite understood that even a "fast read" of any of these books is anything but.

I hope I'm not outing anyone, but I found this when doing a search for "x0 Project"...

Looks intriguing! Can anyone shed some light?

hey folks,

so at the moment how is the best way to plug in to the xo project?

i had an idea and dont know if this is similar or not to the xo project, but from what i understand, programmers often use a tool known as CVS.

it works like theres a big repository of code for a project, often open source. people can check in and out of the repository, either anonymously or with a login. they can check out code and work on it, and then they check it back in, when its checked back in, there is some sort of democratic procees to decide what to do with the newly checked in code, it might replace the old, it might get dumped, it might evolve into something new. and then the process continues.

in our case, it would be an original trilogy repository, we could check in and out any of the building blocks of the project: frames, segments, scripts, whatever. the goal would be to make it as easy as possible for people to collaborate, a sort of distributed restoration project, where we are can all work on something however we do, and then when we can combine our work we do.

im not sure how this would be set up, but hey, neat

B-)
