Chaltab, the reason why people believe it was a murder is because he used a long barrel hunting shotgun to off himself. If you've ever held one of those, it is literally impossible to stick the end of the barrel in your mouth (which he did) and then be able to reach and pull the trigger. He would have had to do it with his toes which is a pretty improbable situation. People believe it was either Courtney Love who did it or who arranged the murder so she would have complete control over his estate, legacy, etc. And she would also have a strong controlling interest in the legacy of the band, Nirvana. Since his death, she has been capitalizing on his name because, God knows, she has no real career without the notoriety of having been his wife. Her band bombed, nobody wants to work with her, she's been back on the drug wagon God only knows how many times, her movie career bottomed out, etc. Bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl have some control as well but every little thing that either side wants to do winds up being a huge court battle. It's a pretty ugly situation.
