Another issue is the ugly, giant subtitles used to specify locations. Most movies may have these at the bottom or corner of the screen, small and out of the way. Civil War has MASSIVE TEXT BLOCKING THE ENTIRE SCREEN!

This. If I do a fanedit, I’m definitely cutting the opening action sequence, I could not for the life of me tell what the hell was going on on screen, it was almost as bad as Taken 3 IMO.

The huge text was way too overdone, many movies have text showing the location once or twice in the first few minutes of the movie but it happened after every single scene transition an made no difference at all. The fact that the characters are in a different story doesn’t actually make a difference, it should just cut directly to our other characters with a transitional musical cue and leave it at that. Helicopter shots and huge text are a thing of the past.
