I’m not getting into it again, but I apologize for breaking the guidelines in that instance, though other members getting away with it on a constant basis just because they’re well-known on the forums does not seem fair to me in the slightest.Once again I’m sorry and it won’t happen again, but it being acceptable for a select few individuals to behave a certain way but nobody else doesn’t seem right.
You’re telling me! I used to go to a forum that had that exact mindset! I hated it! And now it’s happening here. Take a look around - what have you become!? I thought I could trust every one of you here. Looking at what’s happened, it’s obvious I’ve made the wrong choice. NOW ALL OF YOU, SCREW!
Then please, feel free to leave. That’s exactly what i’m doing
Oh , come off it. you must be either stupid or a pre-teen if you thought that calling people “retarded” wasn’t offensive.
Personally I don’t find it offensive when random people around here call me something like that. Something as petty as that could never have any chance at offending someone intelligent like me. But I understand, not everyone is like me.
What is petty to someone like you isn’t to people who have young family members who have to live with morons calling them “retard” and thinking its acceptable to do so. So get off your fucking high horse you dick. You aren’t sounding very intelligent
it is offensive because it devalues mentally handicapped people.
Does it, though?
My best friend of about 10 years has asperges as well as a couple of other issues and regularly tells other people not to worry about offending him and pokes fun at himself too.
Obviously this isn’t the case for everyone in his position but he personally feels that having people tred on egg shells around him only makes him feel more “abnormal” (I don’t really want to use that word in regards to his mental illness, but it’s the way he phrased it).
Things like that can be and are a coping mechanism for some people. It might not make sense to you, but that’s just how it is sometimes. My point is different people are going to find different things offensive.
One of the reasons I initially used the word freely is because everyone I’ve encountered in my personal life has not minded, or openly encouraged it, so I don’t think twice.
So do you call your friend a retard to his face then? That statement is no different than someone saying “i have black friends so i can call people n***ers”. Just because one person isn’t offended by it, that doesn’t make it acceptable because others might. maybe people should think first.
