If you can’t listen to songs whose riffs were inspired/lifted by previous artists, then you’ll have to delete your entire iTunes library.

I wouldn’t go that far but I’ve heard many similar riffs but similar and identical riffs are very different in my mind. Plus it’s bad enough that Kreator (once) and Bathory (a couple of times) stole riffs from Slayer as well. And I was even more furious when I found out Slayer had stolen a riff from Metal Church so much so that I’ll never listen to “Expendable Youth” again.

I honestly can’t understand why a riff being lifted from something else would have any impact on your listening to a song. Especially if you really like this song, why would you just stop listening to it simply because they didn’t necessarily write the whole thing (I still happily watch Ghostbusters and enjoy the catchy theme, even though the riff is lifted off of “I Want A New Drug”).

He probably listened to Ice Ice Baby too much.

According to vanilla ice that song doesn’t even sound like anything by queen. Lol what a joke. I’m glad he got sued over that. It’d be one thing if it was respectfully borrowed or inspired, but he just blatantly stole it, added one extra note, then claimed it sounded nothing like it. At least fess up when you’re busted.
