I have an AMAZING classic rock vinyl collection that I inherited from my dad. (Not dead or anything but once cds became the thing he stopped giving a shit about vinyl. Poor confused bastard. Although his CD collection is now quite impressive as well) Every Ted Nugent album prior to 1990, every Led Zeppelin album, every Alice Cooper album prior to 1990, every Aerosmith prior to 1990 (from henceforth when I say every album just assume this unless I indicate otherwise, every thin lizzy, every los lobos, 3 or 4 ac/dc (because let’s face it: every album they make is the same so that’s all you need), several jethro tull, every Eric Clapton, both Jimmy page and Robert plants solo albums, at least 4 or 5 Judas priest, several early van Halen with David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar, all foghat, every KISS, 1 or 2 lynrd skynrd, a couple bockmann Turner overdrive, all the early “classic” electric light orchestra albums, EVERY Stevie Ray Vaughan album, some Vince Gill, several blues like BB King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Bootsie Collins, several others, and shit. That’s only the bands that I like. There’s a whole bunch more that just never caught my attention enough to listen to, get into them or remember their names.
Unfortunately a short while ago, about a third of them had the sleeves very damaged due to a water leak. Which sucks because that’s where most of the collectibility/value is. But the records themselves are all fine and since I actually like them for their music and I have a nice record player with a sound far superior than CDs at least I still can enjoy them. Oh and some Molly Hatchet.
