HDMI Capture Options

hey guys im new to the HDMI recording/capture scene but something I’ve always wanted to do is preserve HD recorded movies etc from my DVR and burn them to DVD-DL/BR-R discs in HD what is the best way to go about this, I’ve done some research and it seems like the best option would be to get an HDMI cloner/recorder box and capture what I want and save it to the devices usb port and saving them on a usb stick/hard drive then to transfer the files to pc and burn them their what do you guys think any input would be very helpful to me

Thanks 😃

Check out . .
How to capture HDCP-encrypted HDMI sources (Vudu, Netflix, Directv, Virgin Media, etc.) . . lots of info and feedback.

Thanks, very helpful info here so what Im seeing is basically at the most I would just need a HDMI capture/recorder and possibly a HDMI Splitter or HDCP remover I was thinking something like this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1080P-HDMI-HD-Capture-Video-Recorder-Box-HDCP-Decode-F-Wii-PS4-Blueray-US-/161953784955?hash=item25b532a47b:g:t9AAAOSw-zxWoFIH

since it seems to have HDCP removal built in

would one of these also work

Wow, those are nice finds! A short time ago, no one would dare utter anything like “HDCP decode” out loud. Carefully read those descriptions to see what it actually says and what it actually doesn’t say. I think I’m going to do a little reading myself …
