She was in her early 70’s when the special was made. She was pretty spry for her age though. Maybe she really was a witch? 😉

Let’s weigh her.

Leather was hotter though, even if she looked anachronistic on the show. Maybe she arrived on the time machine from the animated Happy Days? 😉

Remember how I said I would want Tarantino-style Star Wars?

Well…

It’s quite a bit Like Adam and Joe’s Star Wars bits from the 90s…

Nice that Joe gave John Boyega his first film starring role. I’d be up for a Joe Cornish directed Star Wars movie. He could tell the story of how Ben was a washed up wino on Tatooine for 20 years… which would explain why he looked like he’d aged 40 years.

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

Perhaps the worst aspect of the Holiday Special is that props from Star Wars (1977) were mutilated for the production of Holiday Special.

In what way? I thought only the costumes left over from the movie were used.

I know only the lightsaber, but that wasn’t even mutilated, it was a brand new ugly one that doesn’t even show much.

‘Star Wars Kinect’ has got to be pretty high up on the list for that Han Solo dancing game…

As it was the last full game published by Lucasarts before the Disney acquisition just a few months later, the suspicion has to be that GL’s thinking behind the project was “I give zero f**ks about how far this franchise is scraping the barrel right now”.

Seconded. Just… why?

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Hard to say, with Disney now owning SW, the amount of awful merchandise is growing exponentially. Having said that, I went to the SW park at disneyworld last year and my only souvenir was a metal sprok from the cantina.

Movie, videogame, audio drama, toy, novel, anything. What is, according to you, the worst Star Wars thing ever made?

For me its the Jar Jar Binks Lollipop

Same. As a kid I had one, but in hindsight its disgusting.

In the UK there were these things called “Tazos” you got in Walkers Crisps to promote the special editions when they were released at the cinema in 1997. In my experience one of the most pointless piece of merchandise ever created. Essentially Tazos were tiny cardboard discs, kind of like trading cards but much more crap, given that they barely had any surface area to put a decent sized image on. At least they were free I suppose. I think you had to send something in the mail to Walkers to get the album to put them in. I was 17 at the time and Star Wars Crazed and yet when my brother’s girlfriend gave me these (She worked for Walkers and was able to get a full collection and the album for me) I was grateful but at the same time in my mind I was very underwhelmed and perhaps even slightly confused. They sat in a cupboard for years before being unceremoniously thrown in the bin a few years back.

Admittedly not the worst Star Wars thing ever but memorably bad as well.

Thanks to ALL members of the forum whose tireless preservation efforts have allowed me to watch the original films as I remember them.

I loved Tazos. They should put stuff like that in packs of Doritos all the time.
