Let’s hope it’s 4:3.
Under aspect ratio, it says “Various”. Not sure what ARs it has historically been released with though.

It was shown matted in theaters, but was animated full frame, which some fans prefer. I think the last DVD release came with both ratios.
The original Rhino DVD had the most screwy sound mix in the history of the format.
Where were you in '77?

I noticed that too and didn’t know what to make of it.
Did this project ever get released anyway?

I’m not confident they’ll include both aspect ratios in HD, would be nice. But I think we’ll only get the Theatrical aspect ratio scanned. At least it will be a new scan and I’m hoping for some decent extras and the original audio mix. Shame, I think this project is no more, I was really looking forward to it!
I own the Botcon releases, perhaps one day I will have to compare them.
Those tracks are still there. They’ve just been blended with other tracks, but if you play the original lighting there darkest hour disc and the Intrada release, they are the same exact length and in the same order
I have the headmasters set
Did anyone else notice the runtime listed is 2 minutes shorter? It says 84 minutes, but the movie is 86 minutes
I have a malasian and chinese audiotrack fro the film. sadly the disk is scratch and i may not be able to retrieve them. i may attempt playing it and recording the audio.
the dvd is malaysian, the cover is generic transformers animated art its lables is
ANIMATED MOVIE + TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT! (animated episodes 1 and 2) i got it back in 2009
Im that guy who likes megazone 23 a little too much
Hi,
Thought I’d give a quick update on the isolated music track I’ve been working on. I have gotten to the “Autobot / Decepticon Battle” part of the soundtrack. It’s slow going since there’s all these minor, minor snippets cut out in the music and I have to listen through the original mix and try to hear how it should really go between all the blasts, dialogue and various noises. I’m also trying to make the jumps in certain areas less noticeable as since it is designed to be an isolated music track, I do not have the same luxury the original mixers did in regards to hiding them cleverly behind all the other sounds. Thankfully, what I have sounds so far quite good. I am thinking that once I get to the “Death Of Optimus Prime” that I will make a small audio file of my work thus far for a few people to listen to judge how it’s going.

Really happy to hear this is still being worked on.
I saw some screen caps on bluray.com of the Shout restoration and although they’re heavily compressed they also appear to show a hefty dose of DNR which is very disappointing. Time will tell but I hope this project is still in the works!
Update:
So, a minor informative tidbit; I am still working on editing the “Autobot / Decepticon Battle” scene…it’s mind bending how they take a snippet here and a snippet there out and hide it always behind loud sounds in the track. The sound editors clearly were under pressure to complete on time. Listening and re-listening just to get a sense of where the true edit was to specific sections that are mostly repetative with only the slightest of difference is a law unto itself. I’ll keep at it now and won’t update again until the section is totally done. Then I hope to make a quick ‘n’ dirty .mp3 of the work thus far for a few listeners from out there.
Thanks for all your hard work! It will be great to have even part of the isolated score.

I believe both ratios will be available in HD on seperate discs.

We used a 35mm IP, which has the complete frame. The 4k scan was of the complete frame and 1.33:1 and 1.85:1 versions were created from that scan.
.
Has this been released?
Which bonus features are good to watch?
I found this today, I am really looking forward to this. Unless its cancelled.
