Tommy Wiseau as the clone troopers is just fucking brilliant…

As is Wiseau as Jango Fett in AOTR. 😃

I should’ve watched The Room before I watched AOTR. I definitely think I would’ve appreciated the Wiseau stuff better had I known the context behind them.

Oh, well, I suppose a re-watch is in order (A re-watch of AOTR, that is, not The Room (Though that would be cromulent in its own right.).).

I think it works even if you haven’t seen The Room, as Jango is transformed into this deranged character.

Wook, nothing works if you haven’t seen The Room.

I was only familiar with it as the April Fool’s gag Adult Swim pulled several years ago, when they showed it heavily censored. (I honestly thought it was some softcore Cinemax flick they dug up.) I saw maybe five minutes of it at the time, and didn’t see all of it until the Rifftrax live show last year.

Obviously seeing it before AOTR enhances the experience, but I found Jango funny as hell the first time around.

I am curious what the status of this is? are you nearing the end, or still a ways to go?

Also, will you change up the order and do a riff of Rogue One next? (Ridiculous One?)

By my estimation, I’m about 80-90% complete with my first pass through the whole movie.

Once I’ve edited every scene, I will go back and fix up some things people have pointed out previously, as well as implement additional ideas people have suggested.

After that is done, I’ll be watching a workprint and collecting review comments on the workprint (invite only).

Then I’ll pick up fixes and ideas from the workprint review, do one more review of the finished movie, create the DVD, and release it.

No timetable because I seem to work on this in spurts when I have time available, but I’m certainly closer to the end than the beginning. Getting to the workprint stage probably takes 75% of the effort.

Next up is Ep 4 A Ridiculous Hope. But I may take a break to work on another languishing project, such as my straightforward edit of Austin Powers 2.

Indeed. I had not started AOTR until last night, which was after that post. I was quite relieved and excited to see that the inclusion in ROTR was in fact consistency, and I have a whole movie of Tommy Wiseau-isms ahead of me (having to watch in short spurts at the moment, which I suppose is fine, since that’s apparently how Frink makes these, so it must be the intended way to watch them).

Well, hopefully they work as a single continuous movie, but I simply don’t have time to edit them that way. I’d have to quite my job and abandon my family.

Not sure where you could use it, but it might be funny to have Obi wan singing the hills are alive with the sound of music at some point, lifted from ewan in moulin rouge.

I’ve just realized I used “Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong” twice so far, so maybe I can swap out The Hills Are Alive for one of them.

BTW, has anyone seen any other movies with Hayden in them, like Jumper (I know I haven’t), I wonder if he has any good whiney lines that can be lifted for use here?

SilverWook has been kind enough to buy me:

Vanishing on 7th Street
Takers
Jumper
Virgin Territory
Awake
Factory Girl
Shattered Glass
Life as a House
Virgin Suicides

All of which I’ve been mining for good use.

He’s also sent me a bunch of Ewan movies and two Natalie movies.

Thanks to a mysterious benefactor, Frink has almost all of Hayden’s movies. 😉
