Checked the HD file that I downloaded a while ago (presumably a Netflix rip), and it is indeed the theatrical version. I won’t link to it, but Googling “Explorers.1985.1080p.WEB-DL.DD5.1.H264-FGT” will lead you to the right place. (Apologies if I’ve broken any rules by giving the file name.)
