“Modern remake” as in “a remake set in the modern day instead of the original period”?
I think you know the answer to that question.
I honestly wasn’t sure what he meant by modern. I mean, I didn’t lose respect for Jeff Bridges when he starred in the remake of True Grit, because it was superior to the original film adaptation (and really anything else starring John Wayne, for that matter). If modern refers to remakes made post-2015, then True Grit wouldn’t be included in that statement. And even though my original question wasn’t entirely serious, I wouldn’t put that thought process past him 😉.
