I can’t believe I forgot to put American Psycho on my list.

How is 8/10 B-? B- is like, 6/10.

And this is why I don’t convert my ratings. Makes my brain hurt.

Is a B- “so great”?

By the way, I vividly remember seeing that in theatres and not particularly enjoying. Probably because I took a kid to it, but I think he was well-enough behaved, so I assume it was because the movie wasn’t excellent. I should watch it again before judging it too harshly since all I remember about it is a hospital ER staff getting killed brutally by a robot for no reason.

How is 8/10 B-? B- is like, 6/10.

Grading system cutoffs:

A - 90
B - 80
C - 70
D - 60
F - 0

80 = B-
79 = C+

Star Wars and Empire are favorites, but if I never see either again I’d be okay, since I’ve seen them so much when I was a kid

Just watched a few clips with my son, and I take it back. I’ll watch them from time to time when they release the originals. Both are so good, but for different reasons. (And he just told me Empire was his favorite SW movie, so that’s cool. And when I showed him a clip from Ep 3 (Yoda vs Emperor) he promptly got off the couch and did something else, so rock n roll).

To whom it may concern: “I find your lack of humor disturbing”.

It’s more “I find your lack of understanding how humor works disturbing.”

I see two films on that list that are actually good, by the way. Try to guess which two!

I count 3 that I like. TFA, GoldenEye and Last Crusade.

The Last Crusade wasn’t as good as Raiders thus it’s empirically a shit movie.

I haven’t seen GoldenEye so I recuse myself from the discussion. But yes, the other two.

I wish I didn’t type that 3 now. Three. See-Threepio. Guybrush Threepwood. THREE.

No love for Thunderdome? Come on, you douchebags.

If you’re referring to one of the Mad Max sequels (Beyond Thunderdome) it wasn’t too bad, it just wasn’t one of the stronger ones. The original Mad Max had everything and The Road Warrior was just as good.

If you weren’t referring to Mad Max, disregard everything I said.

I am not lost. I know exactly where I am, I am in some shitty fucking hell, which is exactly what I deserve. But you… YOU are lost. All my life I thought that I needed you, that I couldn’t survive without you, fuck! Fuck! It was the other fucking way around. It was the other way around.

Yeah, it was in with that long gag list of ostensibly terrible movies a few posts back. I honestly find the original Max a little hard to get through. Thunderdome is far from perfect, but it’s so imaginative in such a bizarre way that it’s endeared itself to me.

OK, I have a little bit of love for Thunderdome. I don’t really like it though. Or the original. I do like Mad Max 2.

Agreed, agreed, agreed.

Fury Road was aces.

Same, I much prefer Thunderdome to the original.

Also, regarding that long list, besides the obvious ones mentioned I think Jurassic World and Spectre are out of place as well. I’d never defend them as great films but I found them to be quite enjoyable and definitely no where near the worst in their respective franchises (let alone worst films ever).

I also stand by KOTCS is underrated but whatever.

I like it. Just not as good as the other three. Miller wasn’t quite involved and the passing of Kennedy didn’t help at all.

GoldenEye

Best James Bond soundtrack ever.

(Love this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTFeynk02Qo)
(sadly it was rejected)

This is the first time I’ve heard a single good thing about the soundtrack for Goldeneye as a whole. Tina Turner’s song was good though.

Bono and The Edge wrote the song, Serra wrote the score. John Altman composed a replacement track for the St Petersburg chase (the one you can hear in the movie, very “barryesque” piece of music).
